Visually this game is pretty disappointing and not nearly as good looking as BF4, a 3 year old game. It is an alpha though so a LOT could change over the next few months.

I can't disagree, when they were originally hyping it I was assuming it was going to be showcasing Frostbite 4 but no dice (Ba-Dum-Dum-Ching!). I'm still pretty pumped, I had no inclination to purchase BF5 if it was just going to be another present day / futuristic shooter. I am very happy they are rolling back the clock in terms of setting, guns, etc.

After playing this, I expect a lot of people to continue playing BF4 because this is not BF5.
I have it pre-ordered.. but I can't wait to see DICE LA's first Battlefield game.

I'd also argue there's a lot more shit operating on levels than BF4, which could be a reason for visual drop too.
I don't think this game looks worse than BF4 (on PC).. but what do you mean? More advanced physics? Because.. not really. The environmental stuff (weather!) is the only obvious upgrade, but it looks pretty awesome. I really want a complete day/night cycle and dynamic weather on every map.
I'll remind everyone of how bad the BF3 alpha version of Caspian Border looked versus the release version. This is in much better shape than either of the previous games were at this point in their development. The caveat to this counter-point being that Caspian Border is a much better conquest map!

Yeah the Battlefield 3 alpha was terrible looking on 360 compared to the final game once out.
It looks absolutely stunning on pc especially when it's raining. I'll probably buy it but BF games really dont hold my attention like they used to (BF2, Nam, 2142 etc) find that its mostly throwaway gaming which kinda makes me sad haha!
Also this is the first BF game to give me motion sickness, the only other games to do that were the last two CoDs:/
It´s glorious to see how they almost completely managed to eliminate jaggies and rough edges, especially with xbones 720p res. Its alittle bit on the soft side but still sooo clean! i love it.

Like the buildings being more destructible again, and the ground deforms as well doesn't it?

I'm not really buying it. House destruction is like.. a little different, but the nature of "total destruction" is more about using less novel level design and more cookie-cutter structures. That's the only way that it's "like BC2", but it's not really a mechanical similarity, and it's not a complement. You can completely destroy many structures in BF4 and there's ground deformation in both BF3 and BF4. Just wait until you see a biplane crash and disappear in a wisp of smoke instead of a fiery explosion. Impressive! :D
Tanks do drive through houses well.
I enjoy the game. It's a unique entry in the series. I need to see more of it.

That does not mean it looks the same, just not impressive.
