Miguel used to cover a few simulation games once in a while but since he left the team, we have never really taken over. Not that it will make up for the absence of coverage for this very specific genre, but today we have a long Xbox Series X video of Police Simulator: Patrol Officers to share. As it is usually the case with such titles, the game has received a pretty warm welcome on Steam but it is mostly intended for players who are into role-play. Don't expect to impersonate a Martin Riggs lookalike, here you'll be doing what most police officers do in the US: give speeding or parking tickets, take care of accidents, prevent people from littering, etc. It's obviously not a game for everyone, it still has some bugs, but we have come to expect such things when it comes to Simulation games so it's no big surprise. Still, if you're looking for something a little more realistic than the usual releases, it might be just the experience for you.

As for this game, unless it has police officers harassing, terrorizing and killing minorities, it's neither realistic nor simulating "what most police officers do in the US".
I have stopped caring about police in general, be it in real life or in games, movies, TV shows, etc. I won't skip something just because it glorifies the police, however I no longer feel any good will towards characters and stories that portray police officers as "noble", which 95% of them are actually the opposite - I wish it wasn't so high, but that's just the hellish reality we find ourselves in.
This isn't a dig at you or even the game, just something that stays in the mind whenever police work is mentioned. It's the same with anything involving Harry Potter's universe, like Hogwarts Legacy, it's impossible not to think of the author's horrific comments.
Anyway, best of luck to those that want to role play as "not realistic" police officers in the US.
