What I've always liked about Sony is that they encourage these sorts of new ideas for games. Unlike Nintendo, where it's rehash after rehash, or Microsoft where it's always like "me too!"

Some of the best physics I've ever seen in a game.

Seems worth the price, will probably buy it.

I only watched one of the videos, but yes...it looks like they took the concept some fruity flash game and just made it in 3d. Yay.

It's disappointing to hear people whine day in and day out about original games, and then when original games come along they put them down and never buy them.

STOP BEING SUCH HYPOCRITES PEOPLE.

microsoft is 'me too'?
they were the first to have a console online service
and now they all have one!!!

i think the only 'me too' is sony when they suddenly announced motion sensors in the dual shock controller shortly after annouced as the wiis main feature

and then you say nintendo is re hash after re hash

yeah because wii remotes came with the nes, snes, n64 and gamecube..??
and all the gameboys over the years had 2 screens and touch sensitivity??

oh no wait, wii is brand new, its the dual shock thats the rehash after re hash

and if you seriously think a kid catapoulting himself into monkeys is a great new idea for a games then you have a serious problem

the game looks good, or even just ok. but lets not go too far

jioann00: nintendo churns out the same goddamn franchises with no end in sight. I think that's what he means. Personally i don't see how the wiimote does anything to reinvent the way we play either. Pres a button or wave your arm around. Same effect within the game.

I don't agree on the MS part though, MS is no more "me too" than sony or any other developer. If anything i think MS has distinguished themselves as competent suppliers of interactive entertainment so far this generation (crappy hardware that breaks down all the time aside).

Sony just keeps delivering nothing, and this game seems to continue the trend.

You obviously are looking no further than the theme. Are any of those games 3d? What are the objectives of those games? If you're comparing this at all to games like Worms or that Qbasic game Bannanas, then you're the one making a serious mistake.

nintendo might churn out the same franchises with no end in sight, but at least they are all good. unlike fifa, pro evo, need for speed and careless games like that which seem to be going down in quality in evos case and sustaining the low quality year after year like fifa.

sorry but i really dont see anything new at all about this game.
it looks fun, but its definatly not a good enough reason to start slating nintendo and microsoft for petes sake!!!!!

ive got a game that came with my mobile, or cell phone if you like, its called JC does TEXAS. instead of a catapolt, your in a cannon. so wow a catapolt instead of a cannon!! thats the first sony innovation!!! well done!!!

so your in the cannon, then you decide the height and power to blast off
then you shoot into the air hitting things, like planes, ppl, powerlines, whatever you see and the more things you hit the more points you get.

no its not in 3d, but who gives a shit. the the only innovation on the core idea is the 3d graphics, and that just comes with using a next gen console really, so its not even a huge innovation. if mobile phones had as much power as a ps3 they would also have the games in 3D lets be honest. its hardware limitation on a mobile.

theres also a tonne of these games online to play.
for FREE
just go on an online game site and youl be sure you find one

anyway, im not saying the games bad, it looks fun.
but synce, as the troll he is, always brings nintendo and microsoft into ps3 threads and says some BS that there really was no need for.
why do it? its pointless and im convinced he works for sony

People called Mario64 innovative. People call Mario Galaxy innovative.

If you're comparing this game to your 2d cell phone game, then I think we can certainly call this game innovative too.

This game also adds additional physics based elements. Does your cell phone game let you grab objects and sling them?

I believe people that nitpick innovative games like this are the real cancer of the industry. If people don't want this kind of game, I hope they enjoy their Madden, World of Warcraft, and first person shooters.

1. dont call me a cancer

2. people might call mario64 and galaxy innovation, but i dont

3. i love FPS

4 i hate world of warcraft and madden

5 if you would rather catapolt a kid into monkeys then play call fo duty 4, then be my guest, im not stopping you

6. if you really do still think this game is innovative and something to be excited about, then you must be suffering from lack of good news about your chosen console, so i appologise to you about that.

anyway, back to mass effect for me

This game isn't innovative in any way, it has been done before only it's been a feature in other games (bmx games, skate boarding games and even in a racing game) the only thing that sets this crap apart from those is the fact that you launch from a catapult (big woop) not to mention the shitload of homebrew pc games that do just this only alot better.

I understand the point you are trying to make about mainstream gamers being a threat to innovation, but this game isn't worth defending and is a threat in it's own way by being a really shallow and immature game aimed at stupid 13 year olds with the attention span of hamster on crack cocaine, the same kind of kiddies who only buy ea games and actually find games like nfs pro street cool.

Also haven't we learned to ignore synce yet?

There is nothing orogianl about the game it 'borrows' from saints row insurance scam mode and i think ??flatout?? has virtually identical game mode where you drive the car and throws the driver out towards pins etc to score points..

yeah
its been done time and time before

im actually really really suprised words like 'innovative' and 'origional' actually slipped into this topic?

and personally i think such a shallow game with such a shallow title is ironiclly actually aimed at the same people who think need for speed pro street is cool...
