As a way to almost finish our tour of all of PGR3's cities, tonight I present New-York by night. Let me remind you (again !) that it's an old build of the game and that both textures and reflections problems have been confirmed as fixed by Bizarre.

BTW theres no way you downloaded, watched the video and replyed within 3 minutes of it being posted.....
No I havn't watched this exact video, but I've seen plenty running on this exact build. It definately leaves me wanting more. I will not be downlaoding any more PGR3 vids until I they show the final build. I want to see it in all of its glory. :)
this video is really dark. hopefully the newer LCD-panels do a better job
Well, at least you can see the road without any problems.
This was the reason why I never played night races in PGR2 - there wasn't enough light. But Bizarre really fixed it with this one.
If you didn't even watch the clip before commenting, your opinion hardly screams "authoritative judgement".
I thought it rocked. The lighting was extremely elegant. Some texture pop-ups present in parts within this build, but I am nonetheless impressed. PGR3 is an essential launch purchase.

Blim, are you using the automatic settings on your camera? If you set the aperature yourself, you shouldnt have these problems.
Everything was in manual. I'm forced to have a 1/60 shutter speed because of the screen synchronization, and just playing with the exposure is not enough. It really changes from screen to screen.
No why would I be joking? It's not typical that games support different languages... French is my primary language and I'm glad I'll be able to play it in French.
well, the content of the video is great - thanx blim! i'm just concerned about the future of (HD)TVs :)
I'm not sure about what you mean, but I'll post this anyway. It sure is good news. I myself is concerned about how the games will look on my non-HD TV. The developers of Gears of War have already said their game looks fantastic (of course) on a regular TV.
It will work fine with a normal TV. In one of the other posts they've said that as around 90% of users will still have a standard TV they've worked as hard as possible to get it looking as good as possible on a standard set.
This is relivant guys the lucky bocman works for a gaming magazine and has been playing a 90% complete version at the office this is what he had to say about normal TV compared to the HDTV:
"i played it on a normal 4:3 TV set and on a LCD (Samsung LE 32 R 41 B) - the difference isn´t as big, as I initially thought. Even on the normalTV it is looking really "next gen". On the LCD everything is a little more sharp, namely the menus, etc. look sharper.."
Just FYI - I play it on my desk in 4:3 and it looks marvellous and stunning. Smile
Uh, Blim, since you seem to be quite the PGR3 fan--Just like me.
Next time you have the chance to film a video, why not a replay :D That'd be awesome, I have only seen around 2 replay videos.......but the video quality was not good at all. I'd like to see a repla vid from xboxyde, you know, with your camera ;)

What? Lots and lots of games are multilingual! The majority of my Xbox games are both at least in french and english.
i just mean that you can't get CRTs that can do 720p (at least in europe) and neither LCDs nor plasmas can match the pure picture-quality of a good ol' fashioned CRT (at least for now and at the time the xbox360 comes out). unfortunately all the LCDs that i've tried out at the local home cinema-store seemed to have problems with dark scenes
btw. did this guy in the quote just say that gears of war is 90% complete?

It's so cool to see the developers are open to different world communities. I'm all for it!
