Xbox 360

Since a few days now a long video of Bioshock showing lots of different gameplay sequences is available on different upload sites. Considering this type of video is usually for TVs and video sites for their previews/reviews I had decided not to put it online there, but since a lot of different have decided to do it anyway, I don't see why I shouldn't either. Anyway, enjoy these few minutes of eye candy!

Does look a lot better than in previous vids, they really cleaned up the frame rate! That bit when the part of the submarine crashes into that pipe looks sweet, water looks awesome!
Yey for optimisation!

My only gripe about what I've seen of this game thus far is that everytime the game is shown, we get treated to the same backgrounds no matter where the character travels. It may have alot to do with lighting though. But if the game takes place in a huge city, it should see a lot of variety in your travels throughout the game, no?

What happened to the atmosphere? Why are the Big Daddies sliding around at 60mph? Why are there so many people running around? What's with all the fire and explosions and shotguns?

Is it just me, or has this game changed a little since we saw that first presentation? What seemed attractive about it before seems to have faded to me, and it just looks like a fast paced Quake-inspired shooter like all the others. I hope it doesn't all play and look like what the video shows, otherwise I have lost faith in my most anticipated game of the year.

That could just be because they want to save those environs as surprises. Or what you say, we don't really know at this point.

I'm not sure about this game. It looks great! But unless they market it right, it could end up being one of those "great games that nobody played."

But dang, so many great games this year.

Wow looks superb!

The part where the plane puctures the tunnell and water floods in looks great

voodoocream, the game is exactly how they sold it, dont forget the videos represented a character with a lot of modifications and guns whihc will not be the case for earlier in the game

Its exceeded my expectations already, so its pushed its way to the top of my 360 wanted games list thats for sure. It looks fantastic. The part where the electricity travels through the water and electrocutes all of the enemies was awesome too.

i was looking forward to this game,i still am i suppose,BUT......
how come the big daddys can zoom across room as fast as that, seems abit much, and if u can zap people with electrified hands or what ever it is,why do u get shitty guns,i also think the graphics have dropped slightly, maybe to help reduce the tearing i have no idea, but the water isnt as good as it was thats for sure

Looks incredible, but I have the feeling this is from the PC version -- the framerate is a lot smoother and there is none of the godawful tearing from the last video. If it's the 360 version, then all I can say is WOW.

I have to agree with you on that. Knowing how much difficulty most 360 devs have with keeping screen tearing and/or slowdown (or a sub-30fps framerate) out of their game, I would say this is from the pc-version. Recently we' ve seen Forza 2 doing 60 fps. I hope more devs take this as an example of how gfx engines should be (not only for racing games). It should be a cross genre standard. How HD is a game when your image is all torn or the framerate is crap? Why talking about 1080p when most 360 devs can hardly handle 720p.. but that's another story (sorry for my off-topicness). Concluding: if this is from a 360-build => Holy Mushroom! But I doubt it...

How can you tell it's from a pad? To me, the camera movement rather suggested a mouse controlled gameplay...

its from the 360, you can tell by the movment of the character, there is no quick movment and aiming associated with a PC keyboard and mouse, just look at how he aims for people, and how he moves. its very jerky, which is common on console controls. im sure the PC version would have had much smoother and faster aiming/movment. the alternative is that its RUNNING on a PC but their using a USB 360 pad, but why do that? resolution also indicates 360 too.

A lot of developers have demoed their games on PC using a 360 controller.

Anyway, if this is 360 footage, then these guys (not known for their engines) have pretty much blown away Epic and Gears of War.

I think this videos idea is just to show us the action side of game. So far so good, i mean c'mon! setting a corpse on fire and then useing it as a weapon against Big Daddy! - that's just plain cool in my book.

Graphics aren't quite on par with the footage shown earlier in the year, BUT the game seems to run smoohtly now and that's good news.

phew, it's gonna be one helluva awesome year for gamers!!
