I can't wait to see the negativity rain in, because they'll be the ones with egg on their faces when U3 is released. Some of the criticisms are laughable, somebody said that the animations look more rag dolly compared to Uncharted 2. I guess that is the mark of a great game which is to say criticisms seem so blatantly famboyish/ trivial sp as to be irrelevant.

looking frigging amazing. loving the new nuanced animations, seriously, why is naughty dog the only developer who has such fluid and varied animations? do developers just not care about that aspect? is one animation loop for running/walking enough for them?

whatever the case tho, it's nice to have some context to that chateau burning down. makes it all the more impressive seeing that it started off intact...albiet dilapidated.

cannot wait for this to show up. seeing as the last guardian probably wont make 2011 (although i hope it does), this is easily my most anticipated for 2011, and is my favourite for GOTY, be half as good as U2 and it's in the bag.

The same thing happened with UC2, once the game was released those clowns were the laughing stock of the internet.

I expect the same thing will happen with this game, fanboys/trolls will start talking crap about this.

Just because someone criticizes the animation doesn't mean they are a troll. I'm critical of all the games I play on my own gaming rigs, and I personally feel the animation in this game is slightly lacking. It could have been done better, but the same can be said about most games on the market.
I think some people just develop a love for a particular game for whatever reason, sometimes hype, and are blind to its flaws. I'm sure I've fallen into this category as well. An artist can also see these flaws when the non artist may see nothing. That doesn't mean they're a clown, and it doesn't mean they aren't laughing at you for laughing at them because you can't see what they see.
This will be a good game. I look forward to it. I look forward to a lot of games coming soon and this will probably be up there with the best of them. I doubt it will be GOTY for me though.

Looks gorgeous. Would love Uncharted series 100 times more if there is more exploration and puzzles rather than shooting bad guys almost all the time. :/

looks nice, but still a year away, but i agree with the animation been a bit "loose" kinda reminds me of infamous nate looks like he weighs about 2kg lol

But its a year away, they have time to fix such issues.

My personal opinion, if it aint finished dont show it.

Really dont want to wait another year for Last Guardian.. feel like i've been waiting forever as it is.

UC3 is looking great. Wonder how far they're pushing the co-op though. I think uncharted's weakest at platforming..so i wont miss that at the expense of co-op. I will miss puzzles though if they end up pushed to the side to make this franchise more and more like gears (more shooting focused)

Oh, and lets not have any random monsters this time.

Give me a plane level too. Surely that has to be the next logical step after UC2's train

Video quality low? if you're streaming it: press HQ on the right side. If you downloaded it in 720p: there's something really wrong with your screen.

Gamersyde always offer the best possible quality, if you really want to see low quality vids you should check gametrailers. Their "HD" vids are laughably pixelated.

ok so I watched the videos again but something REALLY bothers me here...in the part where the game asks you to press triangle to lower a wooden plank so that Sully can cross over. It was 6 or 7 years ago when Half Life 2 introduced physics based puzzles to solve these kinds of problems and now we have to press a damn button to solve it....

this is why Uncharted isn't a great game, its a good game with dumb down mechanics for casual dumbasses

Physics-based puzzles was HL2's gimmick though, not Uncharted's. By that logic HL2's platforming has dumbed-down mechanics for casual dumb-asses because Mario Perfected platforming years ago. HL2 isn't even that great, IMO...

Half Life 2 is one of the best FPS's out there. Thankfully the majority agree with my opinion and not yours. The puzzles in HL2 haven't aged well but Valve learned a lot from them and that was proven by Half Life Episode 2. Half Life Episode 3 or Half Life 3 is going to be EPIC

I still don't get what makes HL2 the "Best FPS out there". I've played all of 'em(the episodes), and they are ok. The combat is just not that fun as the AI is dumb as a Rock, and cutting "zombies" in half with a saw blade loses it's wow factor pretty quick( yes, I know you can pick up more than saw blades). The story is ok but now mind-blowing either. I always say Half Life 2 as pretty over-rated. Not saying it's bad, as I enjoyed enough, but I never got the fuss. Never played Counter Strike though, but that's not really HL is it? I DO like Portal, but that's not HL either. I haven't played the first Half-Life, and maybe that's awesome. Still, this is all my Opinion of course, but I'm not calling people dumb-asses for liking something I don't...

I think if I isolate one thing in HL2 that is the main source of its brilliance, it's its sense of progression. Never, ever cutting away from what you're doing *ever* creates a coherency that in turn establishes an absolutely unmatched sense of place and presence. Going over that swamp place by setting down platforms in front of you, driving between every location, these are slower and more methodical stretches of the game, but they accumulate and contribute to the feeling of being on a journey.

I think Halo is a much better game purely from a gameplay perspective, and as such probably "the best FPS" in my book, but I think HL2 is one of the most engrossing experiences around. However I have to confess, now that Reach has severed all ties with its franchise's former charming self, HL2 kinda holds up better in my heart with its awesome balance of genuine excitement/oppressive atmosphere and a great dose of charm and humour.

I was going to post something not so nice but I will not shit this thread so I will just say that I disagree with the notion that this game has the best animations.

It is pretty but thats about it. those melee animations and hit detections are embarassing.

HL2's implementation of physics gameplay wasn't exactly a gimmick. It worked very well for the series and you can't deny that. It will continue to work well when EP3 gets here. The complaint about using a simple button press to solve a problem is a justified one considering it's almost 2011 and physics could easily have been used to provide a much more realistic AND fun experience. If you're going to go so far to make the game look realistic with fancy graphics it doesn't make sense to not implement realistic gameplay as well.

based on the desert images and teaser with the crashed plane in the background. i'm going to take a guess and say you're going to get your wish. how drake is going to survive a plane crash is beyone me, but i'm sure it'll be an awesome, edge of your seat experience.
