Xbox 360 PS3

Ubisoft released three images of the upcoming DLC of Prince of Persia, available on February 26 and named Epilogue. What remains to be seen is if it will be a real ending of the story, or just more teasing for an upcoming sequel?

i dont get this.. the ending of the first was obviously to set up the sequal, as its already been confirmed as a trilogy (the in thing for games these days). So whats the point of releasing dlc that less than a 3rd of people who own the game will buy, and have that dlc continue straight after the main games story? Hows that going to help make sense of the sequal when that hits for people who dont get the dlc?

its easy ubi is telling us to buy the DLC if we want to know what happened after the retail end.

That's nonsense! BY your logic, those who only completed one Ending in Warrior Within understood nothing in the Two Thrones then ? Come on now, I am sure there will be a cutscene at the beginning of the game explaining what happened in the sequel for those who didnt get a chance to play it just like it was done in the Two Thrones.

Loved the game because it was so relaxing and beautifull (except for the combat ofcourse). But I doubt I will pay for this DLC.
I am with you on this one :) the game was way to easy and short
I think a download like this should cost 800points max because the game sells for £15-£20 new

ending...incredible? what? it basically turned full circle and essentially made all those hours of hard (debatable) work mean nothing. you spend all this time clensing the land, and for what? the prince to release it all over again to ready the sequel...was about as bad as an ending can be imo....second only to the dreaded "to be continued"

Please spoiler tag your post. Some people didnt play the game yet!

MASSIVE spoilers ahead

I can't convince you if you didn't like it but the way I see it is this: Sure, you spent 12-15 hours-ish trying to heal the entire land and then you find out that Elika actually died! You then carry her all the way from the tree to the outside while the credits roll (that, I thought was so emotional) .... then only to discover that destroying what you spent the entire game healing is the only way to save her life again - I thought that was such a powerful way of ending the game especially that you are left to do the destroying after all the healing instead of throwing a cutscene at you - It just gives you the feeling that you are authoring the ending. (add to that all the Ahriman whispering + music which created and unbelievably sad atmosphere)

I Dont know if that's the intention of the developers but it's the way I felt which in my books means the developers did something right at least story wise.

You're free to disagree of course :) When it comes to me, STORY is a paramount factor in deciding the quality of a game even if gameplay/difficulty is poor which by all means are to some degree in this game, particularly the lack of challenge.

If this is the real ending to the game, that would be a fucking screw job to the people who paid $60 for this game. Ugh. If paying for endings becomes a trend (Tomb Raider Underworld appears to be wrapping up its story as well in DLC as is Fallout 3), then I will stop supporting these developers.

Of course you are right about your opinion, but the ending in sands of time wasn't so much different...

same here. i just didnt think POP did either the gameplay or the storytelling that well. especially concerning the ending. i didnt find it emotional at all and found it quite predictable personally.

for me, it felt like the endings was created for sequels sake and nothing more. it was almost a "to be continued" but without the words coming up on screen like SC : double agent or RS: vegas.

it was a case of "if we dont re-release the darkness at the end of the game, we wont have a sequel" and as a result, we get that incredibly cop-outish ending. im sure given more thought they could have come up with an alternative....now i just feel that a sequel will consist of more of the same...including the exact same bosses...which is precisely what i DONT want.

to each his own i guess.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one.

I've played it for a bit, and although it has it's charm, I just can't get into it. Mainly because of the 1v1 combat and lack of cool puzzle solving, platforming and exploration.

Will give it another shot someting, but I'd like to see them build up on the old formula and consider this as an incident...

I feel the same. this game is just not that persia filled. it does not have that indo-arabian feel. First one was the all time classic, I even liked prince of persia 3D on dreamcast very much, then, sands of time was the last best thing to happen to prince. somehow ubisoft lost the old touch.
