Xbox 360

Vivendi just announced F.E.A.R for Xbox 360 and Day 1 Studios seems to be the one converting it, the developers of MechAssault 2. The game will be shown at E3 and will be released this fall, and you can find the first image here.

Hope it's a good port. Did vivendi port Doom 3 to xbox? that was a great port!

Looking foward to this, heard good things from the pc crowd!

On the PC it was a wierd mish mash of ideas. The horror didn't blend well with the combat, didn't blend well with the level design, didn't blend well with the story. The combat and AI were really impressive, but poor level design turned most firefights into stop, get cover, pop out in slo mo, take cover, wait for slo mo to regen, repeat. The combat was never connected to the horror, so while things could be "Creepy" you never felt an impending sense of danger about anything around you, until you heard enemy communication, at which point the scary stuff stopped. Level design was an endless series of Non descript office corridors, sewer levels, and urban decay. Meh.

I thought this game was really fun. Almost like a semi-realistic twitch shooter. Tons of faced paced action like Unreal which I love. So much more fun to play than a boring slow FPS like GRAW. Online multiplayer is great on PC I can't wait to play it on Live.

Its rare to find a game that has everything thats why I just look for the positives and enjoy it for what it does right. In this game its the combat I could care less about level design you can put me in a square arena like in UT and I'll have fun with the combat in this game. I thought the multiplayer levels were designed pretty well though.

This was a great PC game! Since I bought this for PC, I'll probably just Gamefly this, but still, more achievement points for me! Bring it on!

yeah it's a port.. but really, it's 10 times better then not bringing it out at all... at least we get to play it on our 360's now..

Im stoked, and i've never played FEAR once.. i just believe the hype :)

I'm gald they are bringing this game to consoles. Some peoples PCs just can't handle this graphics, physics and particle effects.

Superb, now get SiN Episodes on there too, and my new laptop purchase devoid of gaming testicles will feel a-ok!

Edit: Oh and Vicarious Visions did the Doom 3 port for Xbox. The developers of handheld JSR and Tony Hawk titles. Brill people.

i beat this game on PC its really good. But why cant they let the 360 version have soft shadows enabled??? On PC I could enable the soft shadow option and it ran fairly alright, but my computer is a pile of shit compared to the 360.

Yeah, this game is rediculous. The multiplayer is probably some of the best i have played, and the most fun.

Graphics are good, physics are pretty good. The bullet time is awesome, easily the best feature, and its not a cheap rip off of the matrix or anything like that.

Even if its a PC port, you should be proud to see this title on the 360. There are no video cards out that can max this game out graphically, and maintain a decent frame rate. Also details such as Anti-Aliasing and Soft shadows will be able to be turned on simultaneously, whereas in the PC version you couldnt, no matter what kind of computer you have. Honestly though, if this were going to be a straight port to the 360, then i think it would have been out sooner. Im thinking they might bring new graphical features onto the 360 version, along with maybe new multiplayer levels and things of that sort.

I only played about 2/3rds of the way through the game on my brother's very high-end computer before he lost the discs, but I have to admit it was pretty fun for me. My only question here is, couldn't they have found a better screen to release?

I never realized there were so many PC whores out there. I just don't take my PC seriously enough to be a gaming platform. It's a descent PC, but I'm tired of the constant upgrades to be made just to play graphically impressive games. It's got to stop somewhere. The 360 has definetly closed the gap however.

Good stuff, I know a good handful of people who haven't been able to play this one yet..I'm sure this will make them happy. The multiplayer really isn't the games strong suite, though it seems some here enjoyed it..the SP gunplay is excellent, well worth playing through the same enviroments over and over again.

And to make Manager happy, I guess I'll post this in the other thread instead.

Imagine a fast paced shooter running at the stuttery sub-20 fps pace of Condemned... Barf-tastic!

I really hope Monolith takes the time to actually optimize their engine so this doesnt turn out Quake4 (as in thrown together in a week by a 3rd party slave).

if im seeing it correctly, then the shadows in the back and on the soldiers leg have a hard edge, and arent smoothed out. Also they didnt soft shadows in Condemned for 360, but you can enable them for the PC version of Condemned, and both games are made by the same team..
