Xbox 360

Already earning cult status on PS2, EDF franchise will be coming to japanese Xbox360 this winter in a shape of Earth Defense Force X; as always in this game you'll be protecting earth from giant insects and aliens, this time with better graphics and hopefully online co-op.

@ Nit3m4re

maybe not, but it still looks pretty friggin cool imo! Giant spacecrafts, insects and cool weapons - can you really ask for more?

Hopefully we will see gameplay movies before long...

Even Lost Planet looked pretty average (at first) in stills. ;)

The plastic look you are seeing isn't due to "textures" that's due to the materials and shaders on that creature, from the looks of it either they are going for a grey alien ant thing or they aren't even textured yet. Also, just because something has a bit of sheen on it please don't automatically start bitching about it looking "too plasticy"... considering you don't know what you are talking about anyways.

Sure this game may not look as cool/good as Lost Planet... but I bet you'd say Crysis looks better than Lost planet, or HL2.. or any game for that matter.. doesn't make any other game less good.

Picture 3 made me drop my jaw. I hope the gameplay lives up to that scope, that's incredible.

Bah, screw Lost Planet. In that game you spend half the time fighting wussy little humans. In Earth Defense Force even the ants are big enough to eat skyscrapers!

Ok, joking about the "screw Lost Planet" comment, but this game looks badass.

You don't! But just writing 'what a joke' hardly adds to the thread, does it.

I love the look of it. Looks like Lost Planet without the snow and instead of Akrid species its machines.

It looks like my kind of game. I will keep my eye on this one for sure, just hope the gameplay is awesome.

giant ants?? i'll pass. graphically the game looks very nice in general, but some of the style i do not care for. i'd like to see it in motion before i make any more judgements.

Don't you guys think it might start to get abit repetative saving the world from aliens that will most likely get bigger and wackier as its a japanese game? Sure it might be fun, but if your looking for a seriously gripping story, my vote will always go towards Lost Planet, Capcom have rarely let me down before. Just my view chaps :)

This game is obviously not about telling a seriously gripping story any more than Geometry Wars is. It's about every sci-fi B-movie cliche attacking Earth at once just because they can... only to find out that they really can't because earthlings kick so much ass. =)

Surely it's not as high quality as Lost Planet, but I don't care, it looks like crazy fun. here's an even better video of Earth Defense Force 2. How can you not want to play that??
