Xbox 360

Codemaster sent us a preview build of Overlord a few days ago, and I finally found some time to give it a try this week-end. I have to admit that I was quite skeptical about this game, but after a few hours I must admit that I'm liking what I played. Of course this game is not going to stay in hour memory as a masterpiece, but its original gameplay, its very stylized graphics and its humour should make an interesting combination when the game is released in July. I'll let you discover this by yourself with this video, and I'll upload another one tomorrow if you guys are nice.

The game play seems fun, and the artistic style looks pleasing. One bad thing I could think of though is the low resolution textures, but maybe it's an artistic decision, or a technical one, I don't know.

Hopefully this (flatout, overlord) is a sign of better publisher support for Xboxyde/Gamersyde. They better!

That little creature talks too much, and it sounds quite annoying. The game could be fun, but how much fun can it be just letting the AI of the minions do most of the work. Half of the time the antagonist appeared to be just standing there while the minions just run ahead of him and do whatever. It also looks quite linear in gameplay.

Looks sort of fun, but also looks like you'll just be watching minions do everything all the time.

The overlord can fight alongside his minion and use magic that he learns, while controlling his minions with the right thumbstick. I think the overall game they're kinda aiming for will end up a mixture of Dungeon Siege, Pikmin, slight fable, Goblin commander, and evil genius. If you hadn't seen it yet, you guys could check out the vid preview on gametrailers. It gives you an overview of some of the mechanics as well as gameplay.

totaly agree, you dont really seem to do much, im sure you do later on, but that vid was not the greatest example of the game. looks like you do a whole lot of nothing.

You can of course control the overlord and go fight yourself, but in the beginning you are quite weak so I'd rather use the minions :)

Its gonna be pretty cool because multiple hero types and demons will try to take your head either for bounty or for your throne. Multiple minion types with pikmin style gameplay, and then fable hack and slash. Then you have the humor and art style, if good enough then definitely a must buy for me.
