Saints Row preview: First video

THQ sent me a preview version of Saints Row last week. This version is quite complete, but of course buggy and the framerate can be quite bad at times. The final version is said to be very smooth, and I sure hope it will be. Here is a first video, showing the city by night, the hostage mode, and my beautiful ingame character. I'm sure you are all jealous of his hairs. Anyway, please keep in mind that the framerate is said to be much better in the final build.

So is this more like a near final build, or like the pre-order demo? After all the hype lately, I'm finally interested in this game, even though I swore I'd never play another GTA clone again lol...

As far as I can tell it's content complete, but still quite buggy and not optimized. Some sounds are missing too.

Thought it was GTA for a moment there. If the gameplay is as fun as GTA then this looks to be a very good game.

One side of me is reluctant to get this game as no other open ended crime game has ever come close to topping GTA in terms of fun. Lets hope Saints Row can prove me wrong

Looks like fun, how is the city Blim? Any cool areas you've seen?

I LOVE that the cars play the song after you leave the car aswell, does it do that with your own custom soundtracks aswell or just original tracks from the game?

Not the most colorfull part of the city, but a great video anyway.

When is the second video coming? (I hope the second one will feature a very different part of the city because I havent seen very much of the city, and I'm hoping for some boat action too)

Looks like fun i just hope they fix the framerate i doubt they will though, they have been saying that they will fix the frame rate for a year now and the game will go gold any day now.

So? GTA is good and if this one has similar gameplay and better graphics then this is better than GTA.

The cop cars DO have a radio , when you get the demo try it. I have had the demo for weeks now from my pre-order at toys r us. Very very very fun demo. You can even hear other cars audio from the outside.
