2K Games released a three minute long gameplay trailer, presenting a lot of new stuff actually. The portals looks cool as hell, and the minimize-feature is quite impressive. The overall art isn't in my taste though. The released date for the US is now 10th of July, and you can now see how the Collector's Edition looks.

And This game looks rediculously awesome. I hope this is a single player first, multi-player last type game becase there are so few FPS's focued on first player these days. But it looks awesome.
Couldn't have put it better myself, some of the stuff in this game is totally mindbending but amazingly original.
Up until now we've essentially said that if you can run Doom 3 or Quake 4 decently, you should be able to run Prey. Our requirements are slightly higher than theirs. Of course, you could also get the 360 version (which is running very smoothly -- Venom is doing a kick-ass job).
Anyhow, the gameplay looks sweet. Wall walking, spheroids, portals, shrinking, organic living world, abduction theme pitting you against other warriors. Looks like a lot of fun, and I don't say that about many SP FPS.
2K Games today announced an incentive based Pre-Order program and Limited Collector's Edition for Prey for PC and the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
I see no reason NOT to get this if you can afford it. GoW, The Darkness, Lost Planet, Too Human, BIA 3, etc etc are all coming out in the autumn, 'holiday 2006' or in 2007 as with the darkness. and none of them, to my knowledge, have the same unique gameplay features as prey.
With the horror that was Quake4 I expect this game to run like crap on the 360, despite any lies the developers will spill to convince you otherwise. The Doom3 engine is inflexible and they are stretching it too far. Combined with a lack of interest to optimize it will be a disaster.
Interesting how the same engine when treated with care can be made to run perfectly on the xbox1 but give them something much more powerful and they just toss the x86 codebase right in there without a second thought. The conversion is also outsourced so "Venom" has to work on a fixed budget, whatever they can push out is good enough for 3D Realms.
You seem to have misunderstood me, I know that there'll be a 360 CE as well. What I wanted to express is that the posted CE tin box looks PC-only to me. I suppose the 360 version will at least have the usual 360 logo banderole on the top side.
