NICE!!!! I still dont see the problem with the voice acting. I think it's quite well done and finally some hints about the puzzles in the game :D I am a happy bunny now :D

Interesting video. Definitely gonna pick this up...
That last sentence in the video is a bit weird :-S
"Everything in the game is pointing them into the game"

And about the voice action Alimo, look it's not bad or anything but in my opinion they missed an opportunity to give the game an extra sense of atmosphere. I mean look at the sands of time, the voice actor for the prince NAILED it..
And him being the narrator in his own story was pretty good as well. Not to mention the: "No no no, this isn't the way it went" when you died. Or the "now, where was I" when you loaded a game...

Oh Yes FireWire, I agree, Sands of Time's voice acting was BRILLIANT. That game simply was a one time thing. Something about this new prince and game in general is just somehow so reminiscent of SoT though. Elika sounds really good, the prince is pretty good too but you're right, nothing will match the prince of SOT.

um..this ain't the same prince..

so no need for the same voice acting or same personality ;)

i think this new prince is much more cocky and funnier, he's a ladies man and just a nomad there for himself.

Plus, we haven't seen the full game to judge the prince, can see this being a sleeper hit.

I wasn't implying the use of the same guy, just someone like him cause now he sounds like an hollywood action hero. Which in my opinion doesn't suit the game

For me the voice acting in this game is absolutely dire. The game is set in the middle east (the clue is in the name), and yet the voices are all AMERICA X 100. It's obnoxious in the extreme. Really too bad as the rest of this package is looking spot on.

While I'm not crazy about the new prince, there's barely anything Middle Eastern about this setting. It's high fantasy, plain and simple. A few Persian architectural designs permeat the world, but that's about it. The game is set in the Middle East about as much as Lord of the Rings is set in Europe.

Wherever it's set, the obnoxiously American centric voice cast is painful to listen to and sounds completely ridiculous against the background, which despite what you say, is still obviously influenced by the middle east.

I'm actually more in line with this being a cockier, smart-aleck Prince because it feels completely different to the SoT Prince, so to differentiate both games. The reason I like that personality is because he's just like you, new to this world and would respond to any situation pretty much how you would, but also a little Han Solo. That "because I didn't give it" line was very funny

First, The character in this trilogy DOES NOT start as a prince therefore it doesnt make much sense to use the same sort of attitude in the voice acting as in the sands of time trilogy.

The prince in SOT had a British accent if I remember correctly which is just as nonfitting as an american accent given the whole "He doesnt sound persian at all" argument.

If you want him to sound persian, then he would have to speak persian and you'd have to follow the game through subtitles. Giving him a middle eastern english accent is just as ridiculous.

Altaïr's voice is one of the best out there. (Along with Snake's) So they could've used a maybe more 'rougher/deeper' voice, instead of using the guy who did Nathan Drake's voice.

A middle-eastern accent would actually suffice, which by all means is not as bad as the current voice.

A guy like that should seriously not sound like an American college boy.

I agree with GrayFox.

Alimo, no offence but your comment about not giving him a middle eastern english is ridiuclous.

A character must be believable in a game, voice acting is important...just because they slap on "Prince of Persia" as a title doesnt make it so, especially for such franchise is story driven.

Watch "Lawrence of Arabia" or re-play AC and go to a middle eastern section and listen to the NPCs...ANYONE in that game would fit perfectly compared to the guy doing Nathan Drake.

In SOT franchise, once they went with that voice they cant change it for the other 2 titles, would be weird.

But now, there is a new story, new prince, new character...the oppertunity was there, and they pulled a "Hollywood"...which is stupid.

The game is gimped in everyway instead of escalading it they have lowered it.

To be honest, this game has only a few things going for it...music, story (excluding the voice acting), visuals, the rest is history, unless you buy everything that has to do with Prince of Persia franchise...the good, the bad and the ugly as they say it.
This was definitely not the type of next-gen POP I was expecting.
When I watched the CG scenes from The Two Thrones, I expected something like that but with next-gen visuals and more cool gameplay hints, but now...no.

I am probably gonna cancel my pre-order tomorrow when I pick up R2, better save my money on something else (K2 and RE5) than on a game that I know I wont be playing it more than once.

Just to make sure you guys understand is that, there are some factors I do like about the game.

Neat fairytale illustration visuals, cool cinematic intense looking combat, colors, music, story, fantasy, some cool platforming...and it reminds me of Aladdin movie (favorite cartoon movie when I was a kid).

I did say I will "probably" cancel it, so I am still unsure if I am or aren't...50/50.
But so far I am leaning torwards no.
