Project CARS back on Gamersyde

Today was Gamersyde's annual barbecue for us admins so, as usual, we ate a lot but we also experienced a few things with BlimBlim's Oculus Rift. You'll be happy to know that despite some serious testing with a roller-coaster, a space shuttle, a lost cabin in the woods and even Gordon Freeman, no one threw up or lost consciousness - well except for Ghost_Deus that is. Anyway, we then thought it would be nice to try out Project CARS once again and we decided to capture a couple of silly videos of us playing bowling, or the closest thing to bowling we could find when driving a RUF. The game being still very promising in terms of visuals and sensations, we also took a few screenshots in replay mode or with the free camera mode of the game. Obviously, all the images you can see here and 100% natural. We'd also like to remind you that this is still pre-alpha. Enjoy!

You can now also add the alpha to your Steam account. Just log in to the Project CARS forums and the Steam key is under my profile. I don't think it adds any Steam features yet but at least downloads the patches a bit faster for me :P

I was messing around with the weather system this weekend, I think with 240x time acceleration and it was cool.

Can we play project cars alpha?
I can't register on WMDPortal (they closed registerations ) and without that every topics is private.where can i get steamkey for this game?

Sadly I think that is not possible at the moment. There was some reason why they couldn't accept any more money when the target was funded. I don't want to try to say what it was when I don't really remember.

I don't think they're still planning a 360/PS3 release. The game has been announced on One and PS4.

They should add AA or focus effect or something to the screenshots, because honestly I'm not much more impressed than with GT6, which is running on 7 year old hardware...

I don't know, maybe they are. I only figured there was no real point in releasing the game on PS3 and 360 in 2014.

You can add some effects if you want. Personally I like it the most when there is no additional effects. Also this game is still WIP...

I took some screenshots from the same place in different times. Would be cool to take video too but some why the game crashes every time I try to record heh. Probably doesn't like the Steam overlay.

So is this game actually uh......good?
Every thread i have checked on this game treats it like some kind of tech demo and pretty screenshot generator, is there a competent playing game beyond the shiny visuals?

gameplay mode framebuffer grab, not some bullshot game with photos full of fake visuals.

Well obviously they were taken with different settings. GT6 has horrible shimmering and aliasing ingame. You guys have no idea what your talking about. Here's a video I took of Project Cars with similar settings as to what I took the screenshots with: http://youtu.be/8bDHVs4m724

There's different hdr settings, aa modes, weather settings, etc which all affect the look and quaility of the graphics of the game. A lot of people also show off tracks from the game as well in videos that are only 30-40% complete and have many placeholder graphics, such as the trees or certain textures.

Comparing to the current Gen most realistic looking racer, some pics look slightly better; others look slightly worst. All in all, it barely looks better, if better at all. In my opinion, of course. Y'all have a nice gamers day, friends.
