Xbox 360 PS3

Warner Bros Interactive released these images and a trailer, focused on combat, of Project Origin. The game is planned to be released at the end of this year on PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and the video now makes it look quite promising.

Warner Bros press release:
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has pulled the veil on a collection of all-new images and footage from Project Origin , developer Monolith Productions’ sequel to the critically acclaimed supernatural first-person shooter F.E.A.R.

Project Origin once again throws players in a near-future cityscape saturated with conspiracy, high-tech combat and the supernatural. Players will face tense and highly kinetic combat against human adversaries and unknown paranormal forces in a desperate struggle to stop Alma, a girl with immense power and a thirst for revenge.

In this asset update, come face-to-face with the visceral Project Origin combat.

About Project Origin
Featuring enhanced enemy AI and weapons, as well as new locations and powers, Project Origin resumes the gripping tale of suspense, action and horror that begun in F.E.A.R. Beginning shortly before the ending of the first game, a Special Forces squad is on a routine mission when the city of Auburn is rocked by a supernatural explosion. Alma has unleashed her wrath upon the city.

Please note that the watermark on these images are from Monolith, the developers.

i remember the playing fear when it first hit the pc.. it looked great, and the AI wasnt matched. That was 3yrs ago though...and by the looks of things Monolith hasnt progressed since then.. unlike most of the games that followed fear. Project origins simply seems like a 3yr old game.

That video looks pretty intense. Far more impressive in motion that the rather ragged looking screenshots above. And bloody as hell too.

If its anything like the original I really can't wait.

I like what I see. Maybe I can run this on my pc, so I have a choice if the 360 controls bug me. I am really interrested in the control setup, coz in these later years I've had trouble adapting... Oldie van Mouldie!

Looks intense and the blood effects look great too. I'm just glad they got rid of that stupid green overtone when you use the slow motion feature (from earlier videos). I hate crap like that, seeing as how the sepia tone during slowmo in Stranglehold pretty much ruined that game.

Ok, first of all, the original was NEVER that special visually. It had physics and uber AI though. You should know that. And this game looks substantialy better then the last, not just visually. As long as the graphics aren't as bad as Tenchu Z or anything, its good enough. It doesn't look fantastic, but it looks good.

Well i don't know what pc you had but Fear looked great when it was first released. Excellent lighting, and enemy models.
Check out these screens http://uk.media.pc.ign.com/media/681/681912/imgs_2... then check the project origin ones.. hardly a 3yr leap is it.

Not every sequel needs a whole new engine--nor does every game need to have cutting edge graphics. Monolith has never really been known for pushing the envelope in that department, FEAR is the exception, not the rule. The gameplay will still be fantastic, I can't wait for more FEAR personally.

Condemned has more horror/suspense, and FEAR has loads more action.
