I really hope they have more gameplay mechanics and variety in the game. I have high hopes for this since i loved alan wake. Don't mess it up Remedy, I believe in you.

I really preferred the look of the previous antagonist they shown in last years Gamescom demo. Sad to see him change into this actor. Ironically the one they had last year, that wasn't based on an actor that I know, had such cooler features. Game still looks like one of the best XB1 exclusives and one of the games I'm super excited for overall across all platforms.

This and Gear4 are the only games that I want to play and can not play on PS4.

To make it clear, I'm not interested in halo

if they don't drip feed the player abilities this is going to get boring very fast.

still think this will be another ryse/the order though. technical powerhouse but pretty mediocre. still one i will buy next christmas

In the past 15 years Remedy games has been making 8- 9/10 titles. If anything Remedy has 15 years of experience in noire titles.

How do you compare this to Ryse/the order? Oh, it's not a Sony exclusive, so it must be bad.
i really can't facepalm hard enough lol

And you don't know Korn

I know The order is a Sony exclusive. I own it. It's just so blatantly obvious that Korn is a Sony fanboy. Everybody knows it here.
you do realise using my criticism of ryse and the order (a sony exclusive) as proof of my console preference is kinda...well...dumb, right?

i mean there are plenty of other examples to use, but that is not one. lol

as for the comparison i'll paste my comment from neogaf

"the comparison is based on the fact its a technically impressive showpeice (see tech demo). overly cinematic. but quite same old same old.

we've already seen sections of just walking around building narrative, something reviewers didn't like in the order. largely skill-less platforming. and combat that isn't doing anything new besides visual niceties (nice looking effects wrapped around abilities we've seen a million times). it's not a direct comparison in regards to themes, location, characters, just the general vibe it's giving off...at least with me. one of those ryse/the order type games"

not a bad thing. i enjoyed the order for what it was. and i'm sure i will this. i'm just not going to pretend it's something it's not (based on what we've been shown so far)

Ok, but wouldn't Uncharted be a better comparison then because of the 'overly cinematic' vibe and the platforming aspect of the game as mentioned in other previews? The time bending abilities in games, is in my memory first implemented by Remedy with max payne. If i'm not mistaken, 'bullet time' comes from Max Payne. I don't remember this being present in Ryse or The Order. Except for the executions in Ryse. So, it seems strange to point the finger to Remedy for using time bending. It's what they are known for.
I have faith in Remedy as a very good studio.
i thought alan wake was tripe so maybe thats why i have less faith.

and i'm not pointing my finger at them for using time bending...i'm just not going to act like it's some mechanically innovative combat system. it's a ground based cover shooter with a shied ability, dash ability and bullet time. they've just made it look pretty.

and as i said in regards to to the comparison

" it's not a direct comparison in regards to themes, location, characters, just the general vibe it's giving off"

it's about the style over substance nature of the game. the "graphics first, gameplay second" approach. it's present in ryse and it's present in the order and looks to be present here too... they're not comparable games mechanically outside of forced walking section, just in the way they're perceived and received. i mean, ryse is a hack and slash and the order is a shooter, but i think most agree they're both essentially tech demo's.

He literally said he will be checking out the game when it comes out (can't say the same thing myself, then again I own Alan Wake on Steam so....). By "Ryse/The Order 1886 he means it looks great but it will probably be a very linear and limited experience gameplay wise.
People said this when they saw the first gameplay of Ryse at E3 2013 and The Order 1886 in January 2014, and they were right. You get this same impression so far with this game too, unless they pull a Shinji Mikami and rebuild the whole thing from the bottom to top again before we next see it (which they won't).

I like the whole concept of the time being out of control, jumping back and forth. I hope they use it to tell a mind boggling story.

The gameplay looks like it could get repetive very very quickly. Just as Alan Wake did. That being said, I loved Alan Wake although gameplay-wise it could have been much better.

I'm a graphic junkie ... I love a game with amazing graphics and phisix , BUT I really wouldn't Buy a console for one good game. In my book That's just stupid. shame It's not on PS4.

While the concern for Quantum Break is not as resounding as either Ryse or The Order, I have to say that everything about this game died a little for me after watching the Gamescom stage demo, so much so, that my only real reason for buying this game would be to support Sam Lake.

Game looks fantastic from an effects standpoint, the time powers have always seemed phenomenal to me, but I think I need to see the puzzle-solving elements of this game now to be somewhat convinced that it won't get monotonous.

Nothing stupid about it as it could introduce you to other good games. I originally bought a WiiU only for Bayonetta 2, now I have about 7 WiiU games and I enjoyed all of them.
