Sigma 1 had less Mission mode and only 3 outfits but had 1 extra weapon and much better graphics, sure it sucked big time that less outfits and mission mode was in it (counting out Survival Mode DLC which are awesome), but the rest was pretty much exactly the same (also not counting the NG NES), but the same thing cant be said what he did with Sigma 2 were he definitely changed tons of stuff from NG2 (NG2 is worse than NGS2 if I can point that out).
Itagaki was the guy who decides what goes in the final game or not, even though it took a whole team to make it happen, but the final approval was through Itagaki, and unfortunetly, many fans of NG dont know what happened with NG2 with its bugs and freezes and its cheap designs oh so called "challenging", it wasent as good as NG1 was which was a shame.
I still think that NG Black is the best one in terms of atmosphere, feel, pacing, music, it had alot of passion in it.
But once you play NG2 or Sigma 2, the combat and weapons is fantastically done that you dont want to go back to NG1 again, and combat and balance is important.
About Quantum Theory, the art and all is good, but not for the genre they are going with, which is shooter.
If it was a another hack and slash type of game then I would look into it, but because it is trying to be Gears of War with a twist, meh.
Also, Itagaki had nothing to do with Sigma 1, he wouldnt trashtalk Sigma 1 if he let someone else do it.
I remember Itagaki saying something BS like "once you play NG2 you wont care for NGS" something like that.
I mean Itagaki must be stupid because it is obvious that NG2 would be the NEW sequal to NG1 of course it would be better...one way or the other. What Hayashi did was to remake NG1 a tiny bit for PS3 owners who didnt have the chance to play NG1, nothing more. It wasent planned to beat NG2, and as always, Itagaki is stupid to trashtalk to someone in his own team.
But, Hayashi has done Sigma 1 and Sigma 2, both remakes of what Itagaki made, but he just added new stuff to make it stand on its own.
I definitely cant wait to see how NG3 will turn out, what new direction it will go considering that it will be Hayashi's true first game to make from scratch...aside NG Dragon Sword.
Just hope to god that he will continue to have the badass combat from NG2/Sigma 2 in future NG because the combat has set a standard for me in the genre now.
=)
looks good. But not overwhelmingly good.
If this could be like Gears without the *throw your controller through the wall* moments, I could be heading for this, but will need to see vids first, and definitely a demo!
Can't see the appeal of it myself..interesting how japanese developers are turning their games more western though
Team NINJA = / = Tecmo Koei.
