Xbox 360

Surprise! The great rodrister sent us direct-feed gameplay videos from Race Pro. Some of them have been available as LQ flash versions, but here they are in better quality. We'll have more videos later tonight, but until then enjoy two races showing WTCC and F3000. I'm impressed, though I have no idea how old the build is.
Update: Video showing car setup added, an insane amount of options.
Update 2: Mini Cooper and Koenigsegg gameplay videos added. Unfortunately we can't do anything about the bumper car driving since it's not our own captured videos. There are many realism settings in the game, these videos might use low settings.

Oh it looks shit. Seriously, there's enough out already which does the same and is better. I mean, come on!

For racing-fans there's never enough, but still.

Apparently you've never played GTR on PC.
The realism in their games is insane, and one video shows some of the setups you can do on your car. It's... insane, insanely insane how many options there are.

gfx looks ok i think. some bad texture load/pop on the cars as they come closer, but other than that i think it looks good. Collision and damage is pretty poor though. I hope the physics engine is up to deliver - hard to see from this video.

pretty bad driving ^^

Yeah, weird thing is that these videos came from Atari themselves originally. Don't know why they would drive like this (some other videos are worse). I took the WTCC video in since it shows a bit of damage on the cars.

That's odd. well, the driving here is not really an issue.. :)

Thanx for the vids. I'm still interested in this even though I don't think it will be a replacement for Forza2. We'll see. :)

I have no clue why they keep hammering on that this is a true simulator, the one and only on the consoles, etc.. but in the mean time they show nothing but arcade setup races with hints of simulation.

For example.. show us a race/trailer with dynamic weather effects where the weather actually changes.
Same goes for day/night cycle, have not seen anything on that either... i have seen minimal damage, but no tire wear, no fuel loss, no pitstops, no endurance races, etc.

why must people lie those graphics are very good and to everyones apparant dismay simbim have the greatest simulation of the sport. I love how it allows you to auto tune the camera angle int the third person view it really shows off the beauty for all sides of the car models.

It looks pomising. Again, my only concern is that the 360 doesn't support good/high quality steering wheel. Being an owner of Logitech G25 (with PS3), I would invest in this game and another 360 (to replace a broken one) if I could use the steering wheel. I don't want to spend another $150 for MS wheel. Besides, I could readily play Race 07 on the PC with the G25. Right now, Race Pro is a better alternative to Forza 2 than GRID- better graphics and physics, with gameplay that's not as deep as Forza 2. GRID is more arcade when it comes to physics and handlng.

Ok SimBin DO make some fantastic simulation racers but this is just laughable. Quite frankly this looks awful and isn't a patch on their PC games. Maybe they've had to cut as many corners as possible to cater to the console crowd but this looks like a stinker. It's a shame aswell because SimBin has a lot of talent on their team. I think simulation racers are pretty much wasted on the 360 anyways considering it can't support a proper racing wheel and how poorly online games perform, the PC SimBin games can support a lot of people racing online and plenty of PS3 games can too, what's Race Pro gonna have? 8 players maybe? Ugh.

It looks really interesting, I love the touring car classes and the big field and the diversity of the tracks. But the sound for crashing is annoying and seems to be the same as well, the camera thud it does i dunno it's realistic i suppose. But overall really nice so far, hope there'll be a demo

I completely agree with that, such a disappointment. Honestly, they also downgraded the sound, what the hell is the excuse for that? Hit detection is BAD. The damage mode--I could be wrong--but it also looks downgraded. Is this due to the options? Only a demo can tell.

I want blown up engines, I want CORRECT hit detection, I want damage affecting aerodynamics, I want tires falling off, and I don't want graphical glitches among the already average/bad graphics. What the hell is up with the lighting? It's just abysmal, it's "lights on, lights out", no variation........looks cheap as hell.

Demo demo demo I say, but things aren't looking good at all.

I wouldn't be dissing the simulation nature of it just yet.
Watching the vids, you can see that the this guy has all the aids turn up full tilt with the TCS and ABS having their own disco party.

After these videos... if someone have Simbin games on PC, then so far, there is no reason for him to buy Race Pro on X360. They still have to do some more work on the console version.

BTW When I see games with this kind of graphic these days, I always think: for what reason I've bought Full HD TV.

It's hard to make an honest opinion based on these videos. I mean how old are they, what build are they from? Were they meant to be released?

The graphics look fine. There's much more texture detail and track side furniture that Forza 2. Aside from the cars, even the textures in GT5P were poor. Sims have never had good texturing. GT5 has never been a sim. GRID was neither interesting, nor a sim, if anything GRID was a watered down this.

Hopefully the sim aspects of this game will be up to Simbins previous standards, if so then this is a must have. You can't have cutting edge physics and cutting edge graphics on todays consoles, it's just impossible.

The sound is appaulling though, especially the collision sounds. Hopefully this is an earlier build with placeholder sounds. But who knows. If it's as good as GTR then I'll be buying it.

Yes, there are in GT5:P some poor textures (in places where they are in most of racing games, for example out of track), but many of them are good and most of them simply kicks other games asses.

ohh my god .. instead of doing what they do best (nearly perfect racing simulation games), Simbin made a shitty arcade racer ... arrrghh

I had so high hopes for this, hopes for a killer racing sim for consoles, but that has been destroyed within the first 10 seconds of watching the gameplay T_T

I really hope that this is not a representation of how the game will play on sim too. it looks arcadey, but GTR even on arcade settings wasnt THAT arcadey. I have GTR, GTR:2 and GTL and can honestly say it hasnt gone over well onto console, not to simbins standards if you ask me anyways.....

....heres for hoping
