One of my most anticipated FPS, along with Prey 2 and Syndicate.

meh-tastic combat. just looks too boring to play. looks really nice tho. just wish it felt more alive, more dynamic, less static. get some physics based interaction in there or something?

i know, it's looked poor from the start and still does. i watch each and every trailer HOPING the combat shows something to justify the 60FPS, but nope, still not seeing it. it's a shame really, cos visually it's nice, but fallout and borderlands has pretty much taken all the wind out of it's sails. beaten to the punch.

I don't think it's worth writing off and anyway experience has taught me not to always go with my first assumptions. I'm on the fence though but will try it out at some point- sooner if it receives a great reception

What makes Rage really appealing is the new engine that nobody has played yet. When I think of Borderlands I think of a good game but that outdated Unreal Engine always sticks in the back of my mind. About 15 games were released this year on the Unreal Engine alone. And 10 of them look so alike. At least Rage is a breath of fresh air.

KORN we know you hate Rage and find it boring, so whats the point coming in every Rage thread and stating the same thing over and over again, I mean you havent even played it, not even a small demo. But if you dont like it then dont bother thinking about the game.

If say a few gameplay doesnt appeal then thats pretty much it, dont bother with the title.

Dunno how you of all people can say that. You do it all the time. And ultimately i WANT to like RAGE, it's clearly got some visual muscle and is getting plenty of positive attention. So why NOT expect to be won over? If the Combat stopped looking crap and unsatisfying, then maybe i'd have something else to say about it. But so far all the game has done is dissapoint me.

It was obvious right from the start when they showed off gameplay. You could tell exactly what it was going to be like. When has a game ever changed that much during the late end of the dev cycle, that you said "Oh, now I get it. The gameplay/combat looked like shit before, but now it looks great."?

I only played Fallout 3 and passed on Borderlands and Fallout NV so at least the post apocalyptic setting isn't completely played out for me. Can't wait for this. Any word of a demo?

I dont go to every thread and rant. If anything, I say it in short in whats up box and let it go. I will bring it up again, but I dont feel the need to constantly rant.
BF3 beta is hot now, you dont see me go to the threads and rant, no. I just say what I got to say once and thats about it, unless I get into discussion, which I have.

Every Rage thread you keep coming in, say the same thing over and over again, with various videos even.
I mean if more than 3 videos of gameplay isnt enough then its obviously not your type.

There are such things as poor demo's tho, i initially assumed the level they chose was a poor one, or the combat situations where bad choices, or that it wasnt indicative of the entire game. But with each peice of footage it's clear this is all the game is and ever will be. There is no higher level of combat situations. Just ai that rushes you and guns that sound weak. I expected more from the creators of the genre, but i guess they have improved tech but not really gotten with the times. But hell, i still cling onto the hope that a future video will change my mind.

gunplay...? it's a shooter, nothing special... same as with Gears 3, Uncharted 3, Halo Reach, Killzone 3 and all those others, no surprise

Wow, I can't believe everyone isn't as amazed by Rage as me.
With every new gameplay video released I am falling more and more in love with this game. Classic ID gunplay with some of the most amazing looking graphics I have seen this generation.

This video is a good one though i think and it shows the size and style of these play areas. Impressive in that sense then and it's likely more so as a whole than just the series of sections they've shown anyway

I also think it's the choice of video Id have shown that worry some people. Some of these videos really open my eyes to what feels like Rage will be a tremendous experience, while others feel like iv'e just watched a not particularly exciting combat section- again i expect the game is better as a whole with regards to the rpg elements working together with those one on other encounters. I mean the combat for example in Borderlands just wouldn't feel all that great if you stripped it out the rpg the side. You actually look at the combat itself for Rage however and it's still not in the area of shoddy, so saying it looks outright bad to play doesn't accurately describe what's shown of it

It's like RAGE is a guy, and KORN is homophobic.

He is attracted to it (stops by every time it shows up), but on the surface all he does is talk bad about it in front of everyone. KORN is gay for RAGE. Just come out of the closet already. We are very understanding.
