Almost out of nowhere, Bethesda will release The Scorchers, a DLC for Rage next thursday. For $4.99/400MSP, players will go back to Wasteland for a new adventure that features six new areas, new allies to fight the bandit clan and defend the Hager Settlment and also the return of Mutant Bash TV, new mini-games, and the brutal Nailgun. Also coming with the DLC is Ultra-Nightmare high difficulty mode and Extended Play option to play past the ending of the game.

A new threat arises

Battle an all-new maniacal bandit clan, wreak havoc with new brutally efficient weapons and explore undiscovered areas in RAGE’s new official add-on pack, RAGE: The Scorchers™. Fight alongside new allies to thwart the Scorcher clan’s deadly plot to destroy the Wasteland.

The add-on pack also includes ‘Ultra-Nightmare’, a new high difficulty mode, as well as an ‘Extended Play’ option that allows you to play past the original ending of the game - giving you the opportunity to finish collecting items and achievements.

Developed by id® Software, the creators of DOOM® and QUAKE®, RAGE features intense first-person shooter action, breakneck vehicle combat, an expansive world to explore and jaw-dropping graphics powered by id’s revolutionary id Tech® 5 technology.

Key Features:

New Enemies and Weapons

Fight the Scorcher clan, the Wasteland’s most psychotic bandits, and conquer overwhelming odds with help from a brutal Nailgun featuring three distinct ammunition types.

Rediscover the Wasteland

Explore six all-new environments, compete in a new season of Mutant Bash TV and play all-new mini-games. There’s more to the world of RAGE than ever before!

Ultra-Nightmare Mode

Take your rage to another level with the new Ultra-Nightmare Mode, designed especially for hardcore players looking for the ultimate challenge.

Extended Play Mode & Combat Scenario Selection

Continue exploring the Wasteland long after the final fight with the ‘Extended Play’ option, and relive your favorite missions any time you want with the all-new ‘Combat Scenario Selection’ menu.

And not a single fuck was given that day.

Should be free, really, who's gling to go back to RAGE of all games, just to play some pay for DLC. And a DLC difficulty mode? Fuck that. Continuing after game end should be an update too, not DLC.

To me is better than most of games of today.

Im tired of open games, i like this kind of games, with good animations and close combats.

This is the kind of DLCs i like.

Disqus is shit.

About the game, I bought it for a tenner and absolutely loved it. I had no expectations whatsoever before playing the game, so I was very surprised about the quality of the game. Technically, it's very impressive. Main problem for me was the abrupt ending of the game, seemed as if the funding just stopped and they just ended it right there when it was getting interesting.

As for the DLC, too fucking late.

thing is i enjoy the small community on this site ... its' better than going to alot of other places on the web and I find that gamers here have a strong view on things which makes for some "interesting" back and forth ... i just hate the layout, log on process etc ... it's so 2002 ... I mean common - update this shit already - hire me! I will do it! LOL

... back to game

.. yea Rage surprised me to ... I was going to ignore it (fps-overload and all) ... I think the Director likes Soporanos

Still haven't played it. Did they manage to fix that awful texture pop-up mess via patch or is it still as broken as on day 1 ?

Still there. It's an engine limitation. Hence why i think even as tech demo it failed. You can fix it if your willing to shell out for an SSD. But this is hardly the game worth doing that for.

I am very happy about this. I enjoyed this game a lot, even though it had many flaws. Still beats any modern military shooter out there.
Five bucks is not a lot.

some times because it cost them 30-40 notes to find out it was not to there liking..

But most the time..well... because they like too.

They take gaming far to seriously. I have a friend and gaming to him is like a job rather than a hobby where he has fun.

Good luck getting anyone to buy DLC for a game that came out over a year ago. You need a following like Dark Souls to pull that off.

Still the best looking game this gen, and it all ran at 60fps. Gameplay was fun enough, but could have been far more if ID had embraced the open world instead of just using it for brief driving sequences.
