The free update Operation Black Ice for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege is now available. It offers the new Yacht map, 2 new operators (Frost and Buck from the elite Canadian special operations JTF 2 force), and new weapon skins. Non-Season Pass owners will be able to unlock both operators starting February 9th by using in-game credits. Get a glimpse of this content with screens and a trailer after the jump.

Where is the ugly ass looking balcavia and huge helmets and armor on the characters? I thought it was their thing for this game, make them look ugly lol

Even though the game isnt for me i have to say this...snow level! lol

Still, the gear just looked ugly to me. I didnt see Rainbow Six Vegas for example be like that.

Amount of armor probably depends on the mission.

More risk/heavily armed criminals/terrorists then more armor I presume.

Considering Jäger and Bandit go on missions wearing essentially a pilot helmet, a jock-strap and some sneakers, these aren't that bad looking.

If you have to purchase this though, I'm not. There are a lot of problems they've failed to address since the release of the game that they haven't taken care of, and I'm not one for micro-transactions anyway.

When you see them in game they all look really cool and unique

Some of their designs with helmets are for hit boxes and balancing in the game

A lot of issues are resolved with the game actually. Load times can last a while sometimes but that's about it now.
It could use some minor tweaks to balance however.

Tinks, have you ever had it where you're killed by someone and you don't see them yet the killcam shows the enemy in plain sight?

Love this game btw, a unique twist to an already oversaturated FPS market.

Yeah they changed the frames in a previous update so that happens less now

Right, seemed to happen quite often and was really baffling when you couldn't see the attacker. Really wish they wouldn't lump everyone in with pings ranging from 60 to 400 though, really hope that gets sorted asap!

Ping advantage is more obvious in this than other titles

Generally you still get rewarded for rushing other players as you'll see them first with the way information moves over the network too. Even though they upped that data rate to 60

There are still balancing issues, example being the accuracy of guns when people are armed with shields is way too high.
Also some operators are completely useless
There's really no need for the girl who can detect electrical devices, because you can see Kapkan's traps so easily.

I wouldn't be surprised if the new guy they released hardly gets used too, but we'll see.

The season pass just gives you "early access" to the operators. The map is free and the operators will be unlockable.

I've only played on the new map once which was pretty disorienting. Hopefully I get to play it a few more times

The girl with her traps seems awesome as expected. The guy is cool I guess but it's just guns so kinda boring
