The graphics are simply unbelievable, if i didn't know better I'd say those are CG pics from a Pixar flick, if Jak & Dexter can achieve the same visual quality, I'll become a PS3 owner sooner than i thought i would.

Damn some people have low expectations if they think all these shots are fake- Not all games are going to be last gen games with bloom added you know :)
I'm going to buy all the Ratchet & Clank and if I like them I'm gonna love this game but at the moment I haven't played Ratchet And Clank a lot.
I hope I like the story and gameplay of the previous titles as I want to enjoy this one to it's fullest.
Although it's clear that these pictures are much higher res with high levels of AA and AF it really doesn't matter. You only have to look at any of the gameplay videos to see that this is an absolutely beautiful game, just not quite as "perfect" as these screens.
I'm now replaying the first two Ratchet & Clank games and have bought secondhand copies of the R&C I didn't have yet. I can't wait for the PS3 game. It's IMO the most visually impressive next gen game so far. My jaw dropped when I saw the first game footage and it was identical with the screenshots they'd released so far.

Not even the next generation of consoles will produce images of CGI quality. CGI and the current gen games are worlds apart:
- Models are stil very low poly. Current games use tenthouzands, CGI goes in the milions.
- Shading looks flat.
- Animations in CGI movies are 25FPS, animations in games still look like sh*t.
- AA and AF in CGI is perfect, I don't know any numbers but a wild guess would be more than 32x.
- textures are just imposibly huge in CGI. They are easely 10 times bigger then what we see in the current games, but it could be more.. (have you ever seen a blurry texture in a CGI movie?).
- Fullscreen motion blur for every object on the screen (not just the simple zoom blurs you get in racing games these days).
Sorry guys, the first and third screen are NOT in-game. The 2nd one is though, take a close look at his ears. The first one has a cartoony look, the middle one has actual polygons and textures, and the third one looks like it might be CGI.
If you honestly think that the 1st and 3rd are in-game after comparing them to the 2nd one, you are probably blind.
edit: after looking again, the 1st and 3rd are actually extremely detailed artworks.....look closely at the ledge and grass he is on in the 1st, and the rail he is on in the 3rd, they are drawn. Also, the backgrounds dont use actual textures, they are all drawn, you can tell by the out of place paintbrush strokes.
