Trailer PS3

PlayStation 4 is coming soon but the PlayStation 3 still has some exclusive titles and today Sony revealed another one: Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus. Developed by Insomniac Games, the title's story follows A Crack in Time and will give clues on Ratchet's origins while featuring new gameplay elements. More details, screens and trailer inside.

Ratchet & Clank® Blast Back on to the Scene in Brand New Adventure Game for PlayStation®3

City, Date: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today announced the galactic new title in the much loved Ratchet & Clank series, Ratchet & Clank™ Nexus. Following on from the story of Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time™, Ratchet & Clank™ Nexus is a story-driven platform adventure with humour and heart, featuring outrageously upgraded weapons, extreme planet hopping and brand new worlds begging to be explored.

First appearing in November 2002, the Ratchet & Clank franchise has been a massive success, quickly becoming one of the most popular SCEE titles of all time, with the games having gone on to sell 26 million copies worldwide.

This astronomical new title marks a true return to form for the celebrated series by developer Insomniac Games, and might just give a clue to help finally solve the mystery of Ratchet’s origins. After one of the most infamous manhunts in galactic history results in the capture of Vendra and Neftin Prog, Ratchet & Clank offer to escort the dangerous criminals to the Vartax Detention Center. After a daring orbital jailbreak at the forgotten edge of the galaxy, Ratchet & Clank find themselves lost in an abandoned sector. There, in the depths of space, they uncover an inter-dimensional event that threatens the universe—and forces Ratchet to decide what’s really important!

Ratchet & Clank™ Nexus bridges the classic Rachet & Clank experience with the exciting next step in the wildly popular franchise through brand new gameplay elements, heroic story-driven adventure, irreverent humour, and a familiar cast of characters. But don’t get too comfortable, new locations, weapons, gadgets and enemies will keep you on your toes in this out-of-this-world gaming experience. Space is dangerous again!

It does, but I'm kinda hoping there will be a PS4 version at some point. That's what I'm waiting for.

Not sure how i feel about this tbh. On the one hand. Lead designer is the guy behind the GOOD ratchet and clank games. And it's cheap. A d ot's yet another game to close out the current gen. On the other hand it's not a full fledged release, so it's bound to be short. And the last 2 games have been pretty awful...i dunno, we'll see.

What's this? The 8th or 9th R&C game on PS3? Do we really need that many? Milk Milk Milk

I find it a rather odd decision. Why not have this as a PS4 launchgame? That would be a good thing. However in my case it doesn't matter, cause i'm not buying a PS4 right away, so if I have the time and want to play it, I can do that on PS3.

Same reason GTA5 is on current gen. Big user base. Probably been in development too long. Gonna be a while before devs and publishers throw away the potential of 70+ million. (or 140 million if it's multiplat)

Sony supports their consoles well after the launch of their new ones because they have literal 10 year plans for them. Even third parties support them for a long time. The last Madden for PS2 was Madden 12. The last Madden for the PS1 was Madden 05. This is the first year Pro Evolution Soccer isn't on the PS2.

Arent insomniac busy at work on an xbox one next gen game?

tbh since they've now gone multiplatform its kinda more surprising they're still tied to this as a sony exclusive than it not hitting ps4. Sony probably owns the ip..but its still strange it given to insomniac. You'd think they'd want to move away from it, and sony would've given it to somebody else

based on their last 2 offerings, it feels exactly like they want to move away from it. they have no heart. but then neither did fuse and that was something new...i'm not sure about insomniac tbh. they're very hit and miss.

Bummer that this isn't going to be a PS4 game, I'd love to see them do a good next gen R&C game.

well sounds like its gonna be an origin story, so maybe they just wanted to wrap it up current gen. I think realistically though it's probably more to do with a case of this being the easiest cashcow for insomniac, and sony for that matter.. so makes sense to milk it to an existing install base and use the profits to help fund their next gen projects.

I agree with them being hit and miss though. And tbh i'd rather it be this than another resistance..at least this franchise has some personality to it

that's the problem though, it doesn't have a personality, not any more. they feel completely souless. their humour falls flat consistently. they're just knocked out for the sake of it, and now they're not even full titles, but bitsized chunks sold at budget prices. that's what this once popular IP has amounted to, a budget frachise. it's almost as if sony has a contract for a set amount of games, and so they keep making shitty ratchet titles that don't sell just to get the contract over and done with. resistance 3, whether you like the games or not, was the best thing they've made in a LONG time. they perfected the formula, and made something good that you could tell they cared about. now. with ratchet and fuse, insomniac come across as devs that don't care all that much. maybe all that lack of sleep has burned them out creatively?
