Images Xbox 360 PS3

After generously giving us the first DLC of Red Dead Redemption for free a few weeks ago, Rockstar is now talking business again with the announcement of 4 new packs that will be priced 800 Microsoft points ($9.99 on PS3) each. Unfortunately, nothing as exciting as what GTA IV's two big additional contents brought since it will simply be a way to add new multiplayer maps or characters (including Red Dead Revolver's hero), new game modes, new weapons, zombies, and, last but not least, the indispensable new achievements/trophies modern gaming now could not live without. The first pack will be released in early August and until then, you will find the first images inside.

As we failed to mention the content of the four packs when they were announced a little while ago, here they are now:

Legends and Killers Pack

New active map locations, characters and more:

* Release date: beginning of August 2010;
* 9 new multiplayer map locations — more than doubling the amount of territories in the multiplayer competitive modes;
* 8 new multiplayer characters — play as characters from Red Dead Revolver;
* Introducing a new projectile weapon: the Tomahawk, with corresponding challenges for single-player and multiplayer gameplay;
* New achievements and trophies;
* Pricing: $9.99 (PlayStation Network), 800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE).

Liars and Cheats Pack

New competitive modes, multiplayer mini-games in Free Roam, and more:

* Release date: TBC;
* Attack and Defend multiplayer competitive mode and challenges;
* New multiplayer horse races, complete with mounted combat;
* Play as the heroes and villains of Red Dead Redemption, as well as 8 additional multiplayer characters;
* Multiplayer versions of Liars Dice and Poker from the single-player game;
* Introducing a new weapon: the Explosive Rifle, with associated challenges available in single-player and multiplayer gameplay;
* New achievements and trophies;
* Pricing: $9.99 (PlayStation Network), 800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE).

Free Roam Pack

Delve deeper into the world of Red Dead Redemption with new modes, challenges and gang hideouts to discover:

* Release date: TBC;
* Additional Free Roam challenges;
* New action areas and defensive placements;
* Posse scoring and leaderboards;
* New anti-griefing measures in Free Roam;
* Pricing: TBC.

Undead Nightmare Pack

Ghost towns and cemeteries come alive in a West gone horribly wrong:

* Release date: TBC;
* Brand new single-player adventure, challenges and quests;
* 8 new multiplayer zombie characters;
* Additional animals unleashed in the world;
* New dynamic events and more;
* Pricing: $9.99 (PlayStation Network), 800 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE).

I hope that's not all DLC we will see for Red dead Redemption. This game would totally deserve the same episode treatment as GTA 4.

I'm not sure how I feel about paying a total of $100 for a single game.

This.

I can't believe they support the multiplayer so much. It's not that good imo. But man, everyone wants easy money. In sp episode you must put so much work, while some mp skins, new maps are done for week or two. :(

Love this game so much, but will skip all this pointless stuff.

While I am one of the few fans of the multiplayer and very glad its going to get bigger and better after all 4 of these packs are released, I am slightly dissapointed that the SP seems to be neglected some what in terms of DLC.

There is so much potential for new stories in the world with Jack or a different character that I am sure many people who loved the SP would enjoy, I am certain it would sell as well as this.

Its a shame but it looks like we will have to wait for RDR2 before any new SP stuff arrives, but I shall enjoy this stuff too.

Only time I'll spend money on RDR DLC will be if it's the same as the GTA-IV addons (Lost&Dead and Ballad of Gay Tony).. Not this MP nickle&diming stuff.. To bad they only gave some co-op stuff for free, and not this..

This feels like such a missed opportunity. The singe player in Red Dead is superb, so I expected DLC would pick up where the story left off. Instead we get a bunch of multi-player stuff (which frankly I couldn't care less about), and an extremely weird sounding single player expansion with zombies of all things in it. It's just odd and really makes no sense at all.
