I honestly thought the $19.99 was a typo until I read 1600 MS points. That's highway robbery

Doesn't look like they've done anything to it other than up the res. I'll play it on my Dreamcast instead, it's been a while!

The over-use of the term 'HD' for these re-releases is getting rather boring. The only thing 'HD' about this is the size of the frame buffer, and even then it's only half HD anyway. (720p)

Very few of these 'HD' releases are anything but direct ports which really should just be sold as pure retro releases.

time to dig out the DC and while we're at it get online and find the VGA adaptor so we can play in so so HD 800 x 600 res which is better than SD, the only thing added is slightly higher res and achievements/trophies, you would be a fool to pay even £9.99 as the DC version if found can be bought for as little as 50p at a car boot sale or a second hand game shop.

The voice actor for Steve was hilarious! He made me cry with laughter every time he opened his mouth

I might buy this again just to hear him again

I got this game day one on the Sega Dreamcast, played it a billion times beat it a billion times.
Then I got it for PS2 for the X, played it and really enjoyed it its just a great game and the PS2 simply proved how the DVD format was better even if the graphics were not improved.
This now being a DLC is not for me, I prefer a physical disc, but to you guys who love buying games from the PSN/XBLM you better buy it for the main benefit that you can play it on your HDTV.
In a way I don't blame capcom for not investing too much into the HD port (this is not really a remake) of this game although it would have been great if they would have simply and completely remade the entire game using the Framework 3d engine but I am sure that game reviewers and certain gamers would have been crying/moaning about how its a game they already played and would either not justify paying what it costs to remake or just pirate the disc like the doodie heads are doing these days.

I actually played it not so long ago with emulator on my PC. What a great game it is.... Last truly great original Resident Evil (RE:remake is, if you count remakes). After that it all went to hell... And now they went and made the final mistake they could ever make -- killed Wesker, so 6th game is already shit by default.

Maybe 1600 points is the price in US? I'm with UK gamertag and shows at 1840MSP. Yep, thats expensive for effortless port.

The price for ports like these should be maximum 800MSP (10 bucks), similar to Beyond Good & Evil.

I thought about buying this. Im a PS+ subscriber but was irked by the fact that Capcom is selling it for 19.99. I thought about buying cuz it was 9.99 for me but i was irked to the point in which i decided it would be better to buy Rochard, Dead Nation - Road of Devastation DLC and some avatars. So i did.

is it me or are these videos far too dark? I bought RE4 HD and I'm very happy I did but I think I'll pass on this one for 20 euros and stick to my Gamecube version which was already higher resolution than the PS2 version.

i think thouse ports are totally useless. back then they looked much better because the resolution was lower, the "hd" does nothing for thouse games exept to make them look very bad... i stick to the original.

well, I wouldn't go as far as to say that, in fact, RE4 is far better than it used to be. It was ok back them played on a normal screen but it looks terrible now on 42" whereas the HD version looks great. Also, the panoramic mode is very important so I think these versions are much better without a doubt. It's just that they could have been even better than they are and they just didn't bother.

1600 MSP....pfffffffffff

But for everyone who just played the lame 3rd person shooters and finally want to play a real and GOOD Resident Evil: BUY THIS GAME! Best Resi ever. A game full of atmosphere, good story, interesting charatcers, lots of puzzles and zombies. That's all what RE stands for.

Having now played this I can say there are some improvements over the DC version. There are new shadow and light effects from the lighter and the UI is all in 720p.

Not much but it helps a little.

Still a really good old school RE game, if you can get past the dreadful controls and character animation.

Here's the first video of Dreamcast games emulated at 1080P 60fps. It's worth watching the rest of the videos too. I don't understand why they can't do this for the Xbox360/PS3 Dreamcast ports since they don't need to run an emulator and the Xbox 360 is far more powerful than a Dreamcast. :/
