Looks more like Code Veronica Meet Resident Evil 2. Anyway, too bad it plays like a shooter.

EDIT: hang on, this looks like it could be played in 3rd person as well... hmmmm

SOLD. Looks like its an updated RE2 like they had hinted at, made more action orientated with a full 3d view. Interrested in seeing how it plays, this may be my first purchase for the wii in years.

they may have done what they did between resident evil survivor and resident evil dead aim, where they incorporated 3rd person movement, with first person combat. either way it already looks better then umbrella chronicles which i didnt like all that much tbh.

RE2 remake??!!!!!
It's a rail shooter/duck hunt clone set in the RE 2 environments. It's not an RE 2 remake, sadly.

i hope it doesnt have the fixed camera angles of the old. I tried playing the re1 remake on the gamecube yesterday, looks great, but the fixed camera made every movement a unprecise chore

Guys, just so you know this is not even REMOTLY like the old RE games, ( beside 2 other shottters ) in any event those who think this plays like RE2/Code Veronica... your very wrong.

This is a scrolling shotter, all you do is aim and shot....

and yet it's still more responsive and fun the RE5....go figure

not necessarily. as i mentioned. the survivor series (much like the first umbrella chronicles) where basically light gun games...but then added an exploration element to dead aim. at it's core it was still a light gun game, but it let you go into third person between combat and do the usual RE "thang" where you could solve puzzles, find keys and jurnals etc. hopefully thats where this game is heading. if it's just another on rails light gun game (which there is the possibility), i think i'll pass. but by the looks of things tho they've added actual controls to the movement.

Never in a million years. RE5 is great online.. and i'm really liking the menu management..forces people to work together.

It gets old hearing peoples complaints about RE5's control system.. its still a game in the "survival horror" genre - that have always been stop and shoot. Its like playing a JRPG and complaining that the combat is still turn based.

not according to most people it isnt, but hey, you keep telling yourself it is. whatever helps justify the purchase.

Well most people are wrong then if their defining what the survival horror genre is.. as RE5 may be less on scares, but it still sticks to the limited ammo, and stop and shoot gameplay dynamics.

Its the control scheme thats the only thing differing it from the countless gears of war clones that have flooded the market since RE4. If it got rid of that then what would seperate it from gears?

There's positives and negatives for the control scheme.. yes it feels dated, but then when ever a new resident evil game is out its always felt abit alien untill you get used to it again. Once you are used to it you start to see the positives of it.. such as the more frantic nature of gameplay when you cant run, shoot, and cover, whilst the enemys running at you.

And the only thing that will justify the puchase of the game for me is that i ENJOYED PLAYING IT.

Yeah its still survival horror according to my definition as well and vastly better and more satisfying to play than any of the early RE games. I doubt anyone who enjoyed RE4 as much as I did have to "struggle to justify it's purchase" but no way in hell would I ever bother with a game which returned to the original game's control scheme.

It looks good and I love Claire but come the fuck on, Capcom. How about an original game? And no more rail shooters for crying out loud

i´m sorry to disagree but that game plays like a charm. If you use the alternative control scheme it´s just perfect, you just have to press a trigger for the character to run, it works out great.

As for this game, just another stupid on rais shooter. What a shame they don´t remake RE2 and RE3 the way they really deserve.
