Trailer PC Xbox 360 PS3

EA and 38 Studios has put online a new trailer of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning which shows in-game footage. Expected to release in 2012, the game has some big names working on it such as Ken Rolston, Todd McFarlane and R.A. Salvatore.

The visuals are distinctly average - not a massive fan of the art direction (too cartoonish for my liking), and the lighting overall is poor - but gameplay-wise this could be very interesting. It hints at a pretty cinematic/stylish approach to combat, which is fairly unheard of in RPGs of this type. The music was epic as well; sounds like something Hans Zimmer would compose.

With the talent on board, this demands some sort of attention.

EDIT: On second look, perhaps I'm being a tad harsh with regards to the graphics... in places it looks very good.

I've been waiting so long for this! Still holding judgment in regard to the visuals until I get a better look but I'm pretty happy with what I've seen so far.

The gameplay reminds of Darksiders a bit, but I'm sure much deeper - and set in an open world environment?? ..hell yeah, can't wait for this game.

This game looks interesting and I love art style, but it would be nice if they started to show plate bikini wearing big boobed chicks as playable characters, rather then gay looking men in slippers. The only huge turn off for me so far, are there even playable female characters in this game?

I love the gameplay, amazing combat.

Nice hit detection, great weight, nice animations great visual effects and colors...and its all real time action with RPG elements!

I love those phantom looking dual blades that comes from the arms.

Just great stuff overal, want more!

PS. The music is "Black Blade" by "Two Steps From Hell" if anyone cares, amazing epic track, gave me goosebumps LOL
The track is also used in Homefront's introduction video.

Edit: Digi Matrix, thanks for the video, havent seen that one!
Great combat!, awesome customization too, proper realistic shaped beards, finally! (look and learn Bioware!) I am going with Gordon Freeman beard as I usually do.

2012 is too far!

Watch the walkthrough above, the character customisation is very detailed. Yes, you can play as female.

I guess now anyone can play a fable game now. Maybe somewhat a rip-off, but atleast is more open worldish... it seems.

Looks way better than Fable man, combat and the lack of bullshit humor Fable has which is very odd and "meh".

for you. that is what it makes it sell millions and not just thousands to a varied demographic from dudes to their girlfriends and dogs.

This reeks of generic WoW design. May work, may not, but this isn't enough to sell.

I seen every Fable game, played Fable 1 and 2, I can tell by just looking at the vidoe the combat looks way more serious and better than Fable. I know they have focused alot on combat for this game which is good.

The artwork, it does has that World of Warcraft look but meh, wish it was more darker and realistic.
