Video PC Xbox 360 PS3

Because the Playstation Network is still down, we thought that PS3 owners would be happy to discover the Red Faction: Armageddon demo through a bunch of videos. It should please 360 owners who do not have gold membership and have to wait another week to get their hands on the demo. Let's start with the introduction video showing the hero in hot water. Well, so to speak since the story is set on Mars. Anyway, gameplay videos will follow, the first one being scheduled in about an hour.
Update 2: Second part of the gameplay video added.

It's Incentive for you to Purchase XBL Gold or PSN+ on the part of Sony & Microsoft, not really the game publishers fault. As for Beta access through Pre Orders or other Purchases. Its all Business.

I like it, and I will probably buy it, unless something reaaly bad happens like the game getting pure 5 in scores or someone tells me its pure garbage, that someone must be someone that I trust their opinions.

So far I like everything and I will preorder first chance I get.

Now that I played it, they really upgraded and added new features which are very cool. It seemed to have a spot on Dead Space vibe to it, which I didn't really like. Those weapons are very cool but they have almost no function on a dark cave. Hope Volition doesn't base all the levels in caves. I'd like a scenery pretty much like Red Faction Guerrila with huge buildings to destroy with the magnet LOL

It's a nice demo, but i expected more. I don't really like the level they chose for the demo neither. In the trailer that plays after the demo you see much better and cooler looking levels. And i just hope there will be some human enemies too, it's all creatures now and i just hope it won't fuck the game up.

Played the demo, and didn't care much for it. I feel like they are pulling a Mass Effect 2 with this, and instead of focusing on what made the original unique and just fixing the issues, they are throwing out the focus on destruction and really just making it collateral damage. Even in gamepaly of the full game, I have yet to see anything that requires much in the way of destruction. On top of that, infinite repair means that there are no consequences to your actions, which really takes the punch out of the destruction. The only consequence is when the magnet gun ends up missing an enemy who leaped in front of you and you get smashed in the face with 3 tons of rock, and die. It seems like a decent game and the descent inspired levels are awesome and all that, but I miss the formula from the original. Also, the new MC's voice is fucking awful. So annoying.

Dear Volition,

Please, add all new weapons to Guerrilla via title update or dlc.
Why? because would be 100 times better using them in open environment, destroying big buildings.
Thanks.

btw The demo was...really bad ->
- limited destruction
- shooting aliens was not fun
- camera is too close to your character and doesn't feel right
- TOO FUCKING LINEAR. Wow, i heard will be more linear than Guerrilla, but this is too much (corridors are really, really tiny). Now it's linear shooter number 999. :S

Add that no competitive multiplayer, and this game go from rental to ''i don't want to play it''.

It was linear, but I chuck that up to the demo. I like it, I'll buy it. Just waiting to see what LA Noire does. I will more likey get this unless there is a review about a game breaking feature that will not allow me to give up the 60 clams.

Well, that's just my 10 cents. If you love Guerrilla i'm pretty sure you would hate Armageddon because is nothing like the last game.

It's like they wanted to do something close to Dead Space, but the atmosphere and enemy design are not even close to that game.

This might be the game that kills this franchise for good. The first one was GREAT, honestly one of the best FPS campaigns I have ever played (and thoroughly enjoyed) but this series seems has no direction or it lost its direction after the first game...

oh now its a co-op/buddy FPS (RF2), now its a free roaming third person shooter! Now its a dead space wanna be horror game! lol

Also, if we're fighting the aliens and some guys chasing you(WTF was that ?), I may be right to suppose that it's not a revolution themed story ? You know, like all Red Factions ?

WTF, it is almost like they literally decided to take everything that made Guerilla a unique and fun game, and throw them in the toilet.

RFG:
+Huge open world
+Amazing destruction with large buildings (that was actually useful in combat)
+Unique hit and run gameplay against oppressive enemies
+Fun vehicles
+Multiple approaches
RFA:
-Small, linear levels
-Very limited destruction that seems like an afterthought and has little bearing on gameplay
-Same old mutated alien enemies that are in every game nowadays
-Lack of vehicles in cramped, linear quarters
-Limited approaches to enemies

Honestly, Guerilla was one of my favorite games of the year when it came out. I loved almost everything about that game, but this just does nothing for me. Why would they waste their amazing destruction engine on shooting mutant aliens?

The least THQ could have done is used the destruction engine in SR3, but instead we are getting another quick cut and paste sequel with nothing to separate it out. I really enjoyed SR1 AND RF:G, but now I am totally losing faith in them as developers. They seem to just want quick cash ins...

What about the new guns being tested on, what was it... Giantbomb? They were using the new weapons (magnet gun, and the one that rebuilds) on the surface of the world destroying buildings and such.
That led me to believe that, yes there is a lot of underground stuff, but also above ground stuff.

Hmmm. We need reviews of the full game.

Maybe the underground levels are just act 1, and then you go above to get to the real shit?

There are gameplay movies out there showing outside environments, much like Guerilla, they also shown human enemies. I agree with people about the demo, it's nice but nothing more than that. However, when i played it for a second time and this time using the magnet gun alot..it was alot more fun.

I've said it before, you simply cannot judge the game when a demo is this short and shows just so little. Alot of demos are shit, when the full game itself is nothing like it. I still want to believe that their decision to make it more linear is a good one. That the guns will be put to good use and all that...we'll see.

I think this is a Dead Space demo scenario, where the demo is doing more harm than good.

Probably and most likely the game is awesome or good enough.

Played the demo, loved it, killing feedback is spot on in here and way better than Guerrilla, assaul rifle feedback is freaking great and satisfying IMO as teh other weapons too.

Didn't liked Gherrilla demo but

i loved this demo lol what gives.

weapon feedback was one of the few minor gripes I initially had with Guerrilla (though there aren't any similar games that get it any better).

Good to hear it's improved.
