Trailer PC Xbox 360 PS3

Red Faction: Armageddon is back with a new trailer we just got from THQ. Last time we heard, the game was not planned for release before May 2011 but the trailer seems to indicate it will be March. Guess we'll find out soon enough which one is correct.

Me too, which is why I found it odd that they said it'd be March in the trailer.

Thank god it's still coming to the PC. After Guerrilla, I really needed more Red Faction action.

loved the first one, graphically it is still one of the best looking games on 360 without a doubt too

but the lack of people online forced me to stop playing it.

This one doesnt look my style though, i would rather kill in the "real world" rather then underground, as i like a variety in scenery and i cant see how i will get that underground

i still dont get how this sort of idea gets the green light.

guy 1 : "ok guys, you have an awesome engine that alows for an open world, fully destructable environment and genuine tactical choices when it comes to the objectives and combat. how about we set it all underground and make it a claustrophobic horror shooter like dead space?"

guy 2 : "best idea ever, lets do it, it totally makes sense"

are the developers retards?

I see what you mean KORNdog, but i remember a interview with one of the developers last year and what they said made sense and sounded like fun too. Let's hope it works out fine, cause Guerilla was awesome.

I remember people bitching because Guerrilla didn't take place underground like the first one.

Oh my.
Just let them do what they do; they're all great games.

I loved the first on PS2...spent like 120 hours on it and I loved Red Faction Guerrilla! Thought it was a great experience, way better (more fun) than GTA4, Red Dead Redemption etc The PC port was problematic so I hope Volition is developing this internally

RFG was soo much fun man!! Especially on easy difficulty with the mad AI chasing you like hounds and the last few missions were incredible

I remember the speed problem on Windows 7 which was patched up and made a big difference but, yeah, that's one of the best games I've played in the last... well, ever.
Strange I didn't see many people talk about it when it was released

Damn, took the words out of my mouth! This first game was really fun. The combination of amazing destruction physics, great graphics, lots of vehicles, and diverse tactics make the game stand out as one of the more fun open world experiences this gen.

This just looks like they are trying to be something they aren't. There are so damn many games lately that are using the Dead Space style alien/mutants. Between Dead Space 1 & 2, Infamous 2, Gears 3, Prototype, Red Faction: Armageddon, and all the others I know I missed, haven't we seen enough of these guys? Granted they were cool in Dead Space, but why are they needed here? I actually enjoyed fighting an oppressive bunch of soldiers that can shoot back me.

Seriously, if they wanted to make the game fresh, they could have had it set on Earth instead of Mars, or even some other planet. If they wanted to set part of the game underground, I even would have been fine with that (although I don't know why you would want to hide your games main selling point: the destruction engine). But for the love of god, not every game needs re-animated corpse/mutant, lurking enemies with over sized appendages!

I'm waiting to see what people do with the PhysX stuff in the future. The Destruction is incredible in RF but you can tell it's constructed of a bunch of squares(basically). I just recently saw some of those PhysX vids on Youtube, awesome stuff....

This is the most sophisticated real time destruction engine ever built. I played Red Faction Guerrilla on PC so I can't speak for the console version but it is really awesome

I hate PhysX and nividia's monopoly...if both ATI and nividia had it'd be worth a damn

The cool thing about things like that is that it's not a complete resource hog on a developer. They can provide essentially the same assets as usual and let the physics calculations do the rest. That's the kind of leaps that are actually beneficial in all regards to games in the future. Cool stuff indeed.

Not really impressed with any of those demos...Red Faction Guerrilla did destruction better than the UT3 demo for sure (on PC at least)

Thing is when you add AI, game script, big levels with PhysX the frame rate comes crashing down. And most of those things don't really affect the game gameplay anyway...

RF:G was a fun game

Future man, Future. That's what I want from the next consoles. That kind of destruction applied to whole buildings would smoke RF( I still am very by RF by the way). That and you don't see any of the hair and clothing stuff yet...
