You probably are already aware that a certain praymod has made a mod for Resident Evil 2 allowing to play the game in first person view, just like in RE7. If you're interested, the mod can be downloaded right here and is very easy to install. FOV can be tweaked, along with a few other things, and even the effect that darkens the edge of the screen can be deactivated. Here's a video to show you how it looks. Because of the character's animations, playing RE2 in first person mode is a bit similar to what you have in the latest Rockstar games, as there is some definite inertia when you move around. That being said, it's still a very nice addition to an already great game.

When it's finally finished, the results will be even better. There's also both a Cheat Engine table and a Trainer that allow you to swap character models, so you can play as:

This is what I love about PC games, the flexibility to make the game experience exactly the way you like it, adding, changing and/or removing things. Since RE2R is an excellent game and very popular, the modding community is already doing all kinds of mods for it. I can't even imagine all the insane stuff people will have created 1 year from now - perhaps a "Top Down" perspective, that would be interesting.
