Bugbear Entertainment has not finished with the license Ridge Racer. After a nice Unbounded, the studio will return this year with Ridge Racer Driftopia. The game will be released on PS3 and PC in a free-to-play format.
Funny... Bugbear is not a Japanese game developer but somehow they are getting away with making people think that their Ridge Racer games are still Japanese lol
and Unbounded being "Nice" are you kidding?? that game was pure crap and an insult to the Ridge Racer series but then again these days the double standard of not calling it what it is this gen...
I loved this game. Excellent drifting mechanics and top graphics, if a little too much bloom. Can't beat classic ridge racer but this series is a great addition until we hopefully get a Ridge Racer 8. Only gripe for me was that the cars didn't look more like those from the earlier Ridge games. Fortunately TexMod on PC allowed me to replace most of the car and environment decals and posters with classic ridge designs. Very good game though, only disliked by people who probably haven't actually played it for more than 5 minutes or couldn't get the hang of the drift mechanics... I've played and enjoyed every single Ridge Racer game. But Unbounded was certainly not 'pure crap' as some bloke said further up...
zerojin it stil does not change the fact that this is not a true Ridge Racer game, its made by a different game dev who is trying to fuck up the series with gameplay that does not belong in the series and crap graphics is worse just play the old Ridge Racers.

This is NOT an arcade racer, its not even a Ridge Racer. but you know I hope someday your beloved Halo and Gears gets the same treatment by some game dev that fucks up the game for the sake of making it a multiplatform crapfest.

Wow, swing and a miss...i don't like halo or gears...maybe try a better example...lol. Clue: i don't like COD either.
And this IS an arcade racer, maybe not as painfully simple as something like ridge racer 7 where drifting was a skill-less joke, but still, it's definately an arcade racer. I mean, what else is it, a sim? Pahahaha.

1) Halo already got that treatment. It doesn't need to be multiplatform to get abused and turned into a crapfest.
