Xbox 360 PS3

Pandemic took the time to send us these three new images of the very late Saboteur. They also launched an official website. Visually it looks gorgeous, even though we suspect some doctoring here and there. Anyway the game looks like the best effort in the world war II department since many years, so we'll close our eyes for once.

The last screenshot looks especially good.

Doctoring indeed, is almost a given.

Paris + Openworld ? o.O

That sure sounds promising ! Looks as good as Mafia 2 imo.

Looks interesting, but I hate the black-and-white-environments-transforming-into-coloured-environments-thingy...(that's this game right?)

hmmm 2 years in the dark, and made by the guys that last brought us the broken ugly Mercs 2... if a developers only as good as their last game then theres already plenty of red flags all over this.

After the disasters that were Mercenaries 2 and LoTR: Conquest, I can't say I have a lot of confidence in Pandemic to deliver anything more than a mediocre title.

At least this is using a new in-house engine though.

I actually wish Pandemic would just revitalize Battlezone, this game does not look very fascinating to me, maybe because the period has been strip mined into barren oblivion. I would like to be proven wrong though, if it brings some really special new tricks to the stealth genre I might come around.

Yeah, it's definitely this game. When there's little 'Resistance' in an area, it will be all black and white (apart from the red of the Nazis). Once you save an area and persuade its people to join the Resistance, the area will start to regain its colour.

Kinda silly if it doesn't have a deeper purpose to do it, like Schindler's List.

it's a visual style, no more or less "silly" then a developer using cell shading.

I think the hostile area to "peace" area color style is very unique way of doing this, haven't seen it been done before.
I also like the fact it is a 3rd person game and not another nazi FPS shooter.

I don't mind the nazi era considering even Indiana Jones (I love the series) had that era, but because of the theme and style it was good, and somehow this reminds me of that, a bit.

I can't say more than this, I look forward to gameplay footages of this game.
It looks and seems to play in a interesting way for once so I am looking forward to it.

Wrong.
A visual style is using a Tech. aproach to all the game. See okami.

Using loss and gain of colour, like a gimmick to gameplay purposes, affects the visual quality of the game if it looks bad. They aren't showing B&W images there are they?

If it helps you sleep at night, the colour reflects the mood of each area.

i dont see how a game using the visual style of having black and white areas, is any different then a game like jet set radio being cell shaded. neither gains from the style they use from a gameplay standpoint. it is simply something more interesting to look at compared to the regular, more "realistic" rendering methods avaliable.

could the sabateur be full colour the whole game? sure

could jet set radio have realistic rendering? sure

i fail to see the difference. neither is any more "silly" an approach to their styling then the other.

Dark Sector did the B&W to colour transformation quite nicely, as a nod to Wizard of Oz.

Now that it has passed the clout of "Turning point: Fall of Liberty" this game is going to stand nicely one it's own.
