The graphics were amazing for the xbox.

But for the xbox360 it just looks like the xbox graphics in next gen! i know they are meant to look like anime dolls..but come on...how about some self shadowing? It would look so much better.

game wise, i'm not that interested..why couldn't they focus on ninja gaiden 2? lol

I know DoA has a following in Japan, but how was DOAX received in Japan when it came out originally?

Check out the first image with Lei-Fang... You can clearly see her bangs casting a shadow on her face as well as that big shadow of her head cast on her chest.... Hmm

IIRC it's in the Top5 best selling Xbox games in Japan.

The game has self shadows, Splicer... Look at the Market place trailer... it looks quite nice in motion, cgi-like in some places

Maybe you should look at the pics. The game has self shadowing and as for gameplay, this game is focusing on a Jet skiing/Rave Race 64 type gameplay that wasn’t in the pervious game. And I’m sure it’s going to kick ass. Team Ninja never disappoints.

Yep, that looks pretty Thong-tastic.

Now if only they would add a, Get Blue Marlin fishing bit.
Then this would be my GOY.

Ya know', I could really argue about that. It really seems like the core element of DOAX2 is to give some anime girl action (if that's your thing, which it really isn't for me) for the guy players out there that are a little too hooked on the characters... And then, they'll work their gameplay focusing around that aspect. I'm not going for it at all, but if that's your thing, than have fun.

On another note, the graphics do need some minor improving in my opinion. I thought DOA4 was great (probably cause the Xbox ones were so ahead of their time) for a launch game, but still the graphics weren't beyond 'acceptable' in the long run. I've looked at Virtua Fighter 5, and although I hate to admit it, that game looks like the shit. With DOAX2 they put some obvious self-shadowing in, but the style is just starting to wear off. Whatever, just what I think on the game.

Amazing what a difference selfshadowing does. The pic of lei fang is really good, i assume thats in game by the look of the hair. (which happens to be the only downfall)

You clearly didnt even LOOK at the scans. Every single ONE has self-shadowing and looks amazing. This is going to sound pervy, but truly from an aesthetic perspective, the self shadowing between the boobs really adds to the depth/volume and helps to take away that plastic look to the characters. Same on other parts of the body. It gives the characters a sense of existence in the screen. Like the other guy said. Look at the trailer on marketplace. In motion, this game really looks like CG, and when it is released, I'm sure it will reclaim Team Ninja's spot as one of the best graphic developers on the 360. It truly looks next gen in motion. Even in the pics. Just look at Christie in pic 2. AMAZING!!!

Another cheap take at flagrant voyeurism. Some developers have clearly ran out of imagination to resort to such poor choice of content.

Virtua Fighter 5 looks like a mixture of plastic and petroleum jelly. The next gen has just begun and people are already getting tired of such graphics. A few years ago I would have begged for that plastic look, but now it's annoying, considering that most games are starting to look the same. The style and graphics of DOAX2 are very welcome. I like variety.

Looking fantastic--and the self shadows look great, imo it's exactly what the DOA4 engine was missing.

This game needs a waggle wand. Amazing that it's nintendo who pioneered the one handed controller.
