Xbox 360

This weeks Famitsu also brings first look at new Kingdom Under Fire game subtitled Circle Of Doom. Although this game will be more of Action RPG with dungeon exploring elements unlike previous KUF titles. KUF:COD release is to be expected in Summer of 2007.

Since KUF: The Crusaders is one of my favorite games to grace the XBox, and since the strategy element of that game is what made it so challenging and cool, I'm seriously bummed that they're changing the formula.

I'm sure it'll be fine- I mean the screens certainly look pretty cool- but what's going to separate it from N3 now?

(BTW: KUF: Heroes was very good, but had so many obnoxious bugs I stopped playing.)

Holy crap! I'm a HUGE KUF fan and to single myself out a bit- I freaking LOVE N3. It's one of my absolute favorites on 360 so far... I know- I'm a freak. But this looks incredible! The art style is not totally different than the Xbox versions- but it's a LOT grittier and a lot more refined. You can tell they like messing with the new hardware!

Can't wait for this one though- can't wait to have my ass handed to me over and over by the A.I. leagions.

I just PRAY they add a save point system so you don't have to play an entire hour and a half long mission to only end up loosing at the very end!!! UGH!

Sweeet ... I like that it's more Action oriented ... and if those are taken from ingame then the game is really gorgeous.

Yeah? Maybe I jumped the gun. But the strategy element just wasn't there in the demo. It looked great, but the game just seemed kind of empty.

Perhaps I'll pick it up after a price drop.

It's not supposed to be strategy. This game is supposed to be Action RPG, it's also being ported to the PC.

wow this game looks friggin sick also... whats with japan did they start like pumping out good looking games all of a sudden?

N3 wasnt really a strategy game either... it was a hack and slash title ... never ever ever have i heard that it was supposed to be strategy based.

I loved N3 very much but it was I thought way too short, The story was meh and voice acting WAS HORRIBLE but I still love the game very much and I hope there's a sequel in the horizon (doubt it though) where they can fix all those issues and hopefully make The N3 we all wanted.

Are there any plans to release a real "Kingdom Under Fire" ? Because N3 is not a worthy successor, and we already are getting too many high quality RPG's from Mistwalker. I believe we need a action RTS like KUF: Heroes. BTW Reigner still kicks sooo much ass.

This game is dungeon hack, so it wont really be like N3. It's also being done by Blueside, differnt company. Here's list from site on game:

*Action RPG based on Kingdom Under Fire universe.
*4-player co-op mode via Xbox Live
*6 unique characters who can wield 5-6 different types of weapons each.
*50+ abilities, 60+ spells, and infinite combinations of weapon+ability+spell.
*70+ monsters ranging from 3-foot Goblins to towering behemoths.
*What you see is what you can destroy.
*Innovative story delivery.
*Randomly generated dungeons.

For an overview look here: http://www.kufcod.com/ Check out the artworks under download section, pretty nice. I dont know what I think right now about the actual screenshots in scans though.

Well the quality of the scans are a little low.

Kendal and Regnier are the only two that made it over to the sequel? Regnier is a badass, I like his combat moves. Cant say the same for Kendal. From these screenshots it doesnt seems to be the same a KUF and the art direction is different aswell.

4 players online. Yes really.

4 player co-op differentiates this game from just about every title on the 360 AND the XBox. A gritty online Gauntlet sounds good to me.
