It's the arcade version of Sega Rally Revo(was called something else), so basically an updated version of that game. Unfortunately one of the biggest selling factors for Sega Rally Revo's arcade iteration was it ran on more powerful hardware, and looked a bit better than the PS3/360 versions.

I take back what I wrote. It looked fun in the trailer(that's the point) but it actually is crap. It didn't help that the trial version is 1 mode, 1 race, 1 track, 1 car and 1(one) lap which takes less than a minute to finish. Sucks.

Actually Sumo seem to have also simplified the physics model so that it feels less demanding.I rather liked the way it was but i'm guessing people found it too fussy and frustrating. What we now have seems from the demo to be less satisfying though

And yes the demo was bollocks anyway

Quite why this looks less appealing than the ancient Sega Rally 2 coin-op is beyond me.

Yeah indeed, the cars feel cheap,, not at all like in Revo.

You noticed it too then.Wierd demo quite honestly as it doesn't give you anything you can make your mind up on other than no thanks

It used to be a satisfying struggle getting those cars to get round turns but it's as if they've removed 90% of the slde physics.Could be wrong of course but it felt that way

I would rather The original Sega Rally 1 or 2 on xbla than this seemingly watered version of the game that's already out.Stupidly short demo certainly wont tempt me anyway

The arcade hardware used an off the shelf G80 aka GeForce 8800GTX graphics card to for rendering.

Other than that I am disappointed at the fact that this is not a disc game but yet another download game that will require you to connect to the interwebs just to play, that sucks.

such a rubbish trial for this. It's one lap of a really short track - one that looks identical to the previous sega rally demo. Wouldnt be so bad if the game didnt weigh over a gig to download first.

Anyway, didnt exactly tease me to buy it

Eh, I wasn't aware what hardware it was on specifically, but by all accounts the game performed much better than the console counter part. I haven't played this yet, and by peoples impressions I'm not even sure this is the arcade release, as it might just be a cheap cash in using the same assets.

even so, the PS3 uses a 7800, right? The jump there is pretty significant, not to mention arcade boards tend to have several times more memory than consoles.

Just look at the performance of the Dreamcast release of Sega Rally 2 compared to the arcade or PC counterpart.
