As announced by Square Enix last month, Shadow of the Tomb Raider got a full reveal today. Coming September 14, the game is developed by Eidos Montréal in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics. Get more details, the full trailer and screens after the jump.
In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour. As she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse, Lara will be forged into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be.
The star of the critically acclaimed 2013 Tomb Raider reboot and the award-winning Rise of the Tomb Raider®, Camilla Luddington, makes her return as Lara Croft® with yet another stunning performance in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
“Thanks to their incredible expertise, knowledge of the franchise and outstanding creativity, Eidos-Montréal, in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, is delivering a powerful experience with Shadow of the Tomb Raider,” said Yosuke Matsuda, president and representative director of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. “Shadow of the Tomb Raider will take the series to new heights and Lara Croft to new depths.”
“Shadow of the Tomb Raider will challenge Lara Croft in new and unexpected ways,” said David Anfossi, Head of Studio at Eidos-Montréal. “Our team has created a diverse set of skills, combat techniques and equipment for players to master, and they’ll certainly need them if they hope to survive the deadly jungle environments and tombs.”
Last night, Square Enix welcomed fans, community leaders, press, and industry influencers to events in Montreal, London, and Los Angeles so they could experience Lara Croft’s defining moment as she becomes the Tomb Raider. Now, a wealth of information, screenshots, and more is now available at TombRaider.com.
Fans in the New York City area will be able to enjoy a Special Preview of Shadow of the Tomb Raider at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival on Friday, April 27. This free event will start at 4 p.m. EST, and will take place inside of the BMCC Theater at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. Join the creative team as they discuss the evolution of Lara Croft and share in the techniques, tools and inspiration behind the series. SotTR looks great and I'm really digging all the environments and the tone of it, very dark and the CG trailer reminds me a lot of the movie Predator. Really intrigued by the insinuation at the end, maybe they will tackle what all the killing Lara has committed has turned her into. Something very few games deal with, the psychological aspect of so much violence and killing.
Now waiting for some gameplay and more details at E3 2018.
Like what the fuck?! Gosh I'm pissed sorry.
i'll buy it when all the DLC and season pass content is released as a "complete" edition some time next year instead.
Like what the fuck?! Gosh I'm pissed sorry.
Modern gaming in a nutshell, folks.
And seriously, fuck all these so called "editions" and all.

Do you just simply know how many tombs there are in the final game?
Do you know what type of tombs will be those DLC tombs?
Do you know that the tombs in the DLCs will be longer, bigger and more complex than the ones in the final game?
To use your words:
Here's the text you clearly didn't read or just ignored since it didn't validate your stupidity or "empty anger":

Have you noticed the "overcome terrifying tombs" part now?
Stop being angry at the world, and specially, specially about a freaking game and for no reason. Wait for reviews and see if that's something you think you would enjoy or not, if not, you're not forced to buy it or even like it. But at least have the maturity, decency and respect to evaluate something after it's been released and you have seen much of what it has to offer before judging it.

I was thinking Alicia Vikander was going to be the base model for the new game. either way, the ROTR Lara was pretty High poly. (120k) at least i know it's going to run smooth on my pc. I wonder what new features the PC version will have, and how much of it will land on XB1 and PS4-Pro.
"Nixxes Software will handle the PC version of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, will collaborate with NVIDIA"
"This effort will help maximize the performance benefits of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series GPUs for PC gamers across the world. "

So i know for sure it's going to run smooth on my pc. I can't wait to see what other features this will support.

I can but I don't need to explain anymore - but we'll definitely be sure after it will be out, but I don't like it and I stated my opinion.
Ohh and another little hint did you happen to see it's lovely Steam offer?
(I think it's also on consoles when you make digital pre-order).

We (gamers) all know that these games (mutilated by publishers) are best enjoyed in a GOTY edition for a reasonable price - not for 89,06€ (my country price) as a pre-order for all digital stuff without any physical stuff.
HOWGH
I have to admit after watching this game demo today called "Book of the dead"

It sort of drowned out the hype i had for the new TR screens. as of yet Nothing really compares, unless you want to add FarCry 5..... well anyways, I know the new TR game is going to run good on my setup.
This reboot series in a nutshell, all over the place in tone with no actual great origin story to tell.

The series deserved better writers and cast. Sadly we're 3 games in and not much can change at this point. She's stuck being the angsty petulant girl with daddy issues and I'm not sure that's ever going to change.
What's worse is the news that came from these previews have basically confirmed we will never go back to the classic style and this is how Lara will be going forward. That's the most depressing thing about it.
