Will buy it on saturday!!
A steal I say!
Difficulty settings, developers, difficulty settings...hardly a new idea.
Way too challenging?
Shake my head!
Too bad some reviews say this is way too challenging and frustrating, I really don't think shoehorning overt difficulty into these small games is adding true value. I will try the demo anyway but I don't have time to gnash my teeth in frustration these days so I will most probably skip the full game which is a shame, the art style is extremely cool.

I know only a few Game that have no difficulty settings so what is the Problem? IMO most Games are to easy these Days. Last Game with really Hard difficulty was Dantes Inferno but even Modern Warfare 2 isnt that Hard like many said. Finished it on the First Attempt on Veteran in about 8hours. On Easy you can run trough nearly every Level in a few Minutes. So i try to start and Finish every Game at the Hardest difficulty even if i sometimes have to switch back because of the Fun. Just Cause 2 for example makes more Fun on a Lower difficulty like Agent. Special Agent is playable but can get very frustrating because you spend more time in Cover than in the GoW Series^^
You completely misunderstood my point about difficulty setting it seems, if you like games to be hard that's fine to each his own but an easy option should always be there for people with less time to piss away.
Some gamers these days wants a difficulty so easy with such a easy simple combat that doesnt need much thinking that it is like a parent taking you to kindergarden :P
Now I only played the demo several times, I wanted to try out Hard but the demo didnt let me (damn you), but if the difficulty is as hard as people say then I am imagining Ninja Gaiden NES hard :D
Lots of ingame stuff to unlock too gives it loads of replay value too!!
Seems there's a lot of screen tearing going on.
Can anyone comfirm this? what version are you playing?
Yeah tried the demo and it seems like the irritating shortcomings mentioned in the reviews are there. I just don't have the time/ patience for overly tough games these days and the default difficulty of Shank is apparently frustratingly annoying, later in the game. Even people who like it have admitted dying multiple times to get past certain areas.

Really?

Are gamers today really such total pussies that dying a few times makes a game not worth playing? I mean, sure if the game feels unfair constantly then that's not especially entertaining, but just dying a few times to get past an area or a boss? Go back and try some NES games :P

some games are just hard and are specifically for that audience who like that.
No screen tearing on the 360 version, I can confirm that for certain.
Still undecided lol,but I will the demo a try, replay value its important to me.
Oh no! Several times? Really?

All that being said, I haven't played Shank yet( downloading demo now). On a side note, I did play the Scott Pilgrim Demo and was very let down- I found it boring and shallow. There is no reason a game should play like that now-a-days. Why even have a block button if it is so unresponsive? That game also needs some kind of counter mechanic. As it is, it's just button-mashing...

It's only the first level on demo, what do you expect? I already finished it and you learn lots of new moves, and there is a counter mechanic that you will learn. Press the defend button at the same time dude attacks and you will counter it's attack.
That's good to know. As the demo stands, they should have included some later gameplay...
