Build for the PC first then port to the consoles please.
I just so look forward to strolling around in the forests meeting wildlife and enjoying the views. :D
I saw some nice human character faces in the trailer, maybe they will give us something similair to Fallout 3 with a wide variety of hair and beardstyles :)
With regards to the actual roleplaying you get to do in FF games of late they are more akin to interactive storytelling than roleplaying.
there is fuck all AI fuck all in terms of a combat system that requires speed.. FF games only have to worry about visuals and nothing else, ES among many other games have to take many other things in to consideration.
I suppose what fit on FFXIIIs 3 DVDs would have probably fit on one blueray. So yeah a bit of a non-issue, having more space helps though.
As for what it had, all it had was pretty visuals and AI, not good AI, but AI.
They used it as a substitute for player party control and added frustrating and restrictive ways of managing your party of which the only bit I liked was the Crystarium Point System for its similarities to the Sphere Grid System.
Its like they don't want you to control your party and customise them, they just want to tell the story in which case they chould just remake Final Fantasy: Spirits Within and make other CG films.
I think you're remembering Oblivion with rose tinted glasses.
I just hope the framerates solid, and the bugs dont kill it before its had a chance to really show just how much work has gone into the game

While all JRPGs are linear some are more than others. For example FFXIII is much more linear than say Lost Odyssey.
