Trailer PC PS4

We knew the next title from Amnesia creators would be creepy but today Frictional Games reveals that SOMA takes place underwater, at the bottom of the ocean. The lack of sunlight and the weird creatures living deep below certainly fit well a survival horror game. Hold your breath and jump to get an insight of the darkness from the PC and PS4 title that will arrive next year.

This look to be more of a spiritual successor to system shock 2 than Bioshock. I might be completely wrong though, need to see more gameplay footage.

Next year damn that sucks, must be an awesome long game, I hope its a never ending survival horror sandbox.

In my opinion hmm sometimes ghosts will haunt you and some human alien fish should also haunt. Their should be safe houses or five you the ability to close that tube, drain the water out and just look outside and hear what's outside, random banging noises followed by demonic screams of kids or a thing while lights flicker sometimes, you know mess with you while you stay inside the tube, then outside your hunted smartly but slowly.

Revealing this seems really fucking pointless. The reveal is vaguely interesting, but will likely do almost nothing to bolster support for the game any more than a random bit of footage that didn't show this stuff.
If left till the release though, it could have been a much more interesting and impactful reveal.
What happened to games marketing? It seems like everything is just thrown out for public consumption months before release just because they are too lazy to find better ways to show off the game without showing the parts that could make for a great moment if left quiet.
I imagine the idea is that this is an interesting twist, but the truth is that this will just quickly become an uninteresting aspect of the game. It's a shame, because it's a total waste of a cool twist.
A game like this should embrace the mystery. From the initial reveal, it seemed that they understood that. But now I'm not so sure.

With this trailer, they finally revealed that the entire game is set underwater. That got me very confused and therefore very intrigued to find out more, so this piece of media worked for me to get even more hype. I wouldn't have guessed that from previous footage, looked more like space, but I'm sure they have loads of reveals to happen. You're acting like they gave up the entire plot in some typical 2:30min movie trailer, while they've just only shown where the game is actually set.

Perhaps they never intended for this to be a twist. We still know little about the game in the grand scheme of things. Who knows what else they might have up their sleeves?
