Sega finally released some footage in high-res (!) from Sonic Riders, which means you can finally see how the graphics look. Not too shabby, eh? Don't know what to think about the music in the "Sand" video though...
I went into my local game or HMV (cant remember which) looking for VGA cables and i had a discussion with a person who works there. He told me they will stop selling xbox games :O
i wish the pelican vga cables were in stores when i picked up my MS one..half price! pelican faceplates are half of official MS price, too. 360 accessories are pretty expensive..

Well yeah...thats why I got the mega collection...old skool!
I've heard from several reliable sources that this is good fun, actually. The only big question mark hovering above it seems to be its difficulty or rather its lack thereof. It sports some pretty powerful catch-up stuff that sort of ruins the whole skill aspect, and unless they tweak that it's just gonna be a broken good game. It handles great, looks great (as you can see) and it's baby bottom smooth for once, making it sort of the only 3D Sonic to compare to the smoothness of SA2.
As for 2D Sonic I really can't recommend Sonic Rush enough. It's simply awesome.
Sort of, it depends on how you look at it I suppose. What's a Sonic Adventure to you if not that name? Shadow The Hedgehog is actually the closest to a Sonic Adventure 3 so far, because the same people were involved in that and the first two Adventure games. It's open season on 3D Sonic among reviewers these days though, and I haven't spent enough time with Shadow to tell if it's an alright game or not.
Yuji Naka is involved in "Sonic The Hedgehog" though, which makes it the least "Adventure" like 3D Sonic, but prolly the best one since SA1.
I think they need to separate speed and platforming elements. There's no need to run like fucking mad when you're trying to do precise jumps, and no need to keep the controls that responsive when running on what's basically on rails sections of the levels. In Shadow (I have spent SOME time with it) that's especially obvious, since that has some pretty slow paced shooting sections. Sometimes you'll just shoot off into the distance for no real reason. You just don't want to use that kind of speed when you're trying to do something more methodical.
Other games dare use more than three buttons, and although Shadow does, it doesn't reserve one for controlling how fast you're going, and that's really something I think they need to adress.
The biggest gripe I have with the 3D Sonic games is the twitchyness when going fast and the lack of precision when going slow. Both those problems can be attributed to the very same flaw in mechanics; the inability to separate speed and precision, even when combining them proves over and over not to work in a 3D world.
That said, I loved Sonic Adventure 1, but that seemed more content with just going really fast all the time.
