Namco released this brand new trailer of Soul Calibur IV, showing the usual and new characters, along with the always surprising Yoda and Vador. Looking nice.

By the looks of this picture, the game certainly has fallen down from the previous build they showed. The background building and the character models are too last-gen. And btw even PS2's SC3 had self-shadowing and multi-directional light sources added up to moving light sources that constantly changed character shadows:

meh!!!
SC3s gameplay felt hectic and dull compared to SC1+2 in my opinion and it's graphics (no matter how much better the techniques used were) seemed like a step backwards to me, that's why I didn't buy it, although I'm a very big fan of the first two instalments (I never played Soul Edge)
I hope this part is more like SC1+2 and not like the (in my opnion) inferior 3rd part

Can't understand what you're saying... it had way better water and cloth simulation was uber physics based, backgrounds were entirely dynamic and there were 30 of 'em. There was really beautiful 'fur' that is entirely missing in any other fighting game and comparable to next-gen's lost-planet (fur coats).
Self-shadowing and steam-fog effects were included that totally transends anything that was available on the first xbox and especially in the soul calibur series.
Then, it had much better frame-rate, game was much faster than its prequels and had way more character optimization options like VF4 than anything else back in the series...
Now if that's a step backwards then what is your opinion of a step next-wards???
My guess would only be... like a lot of xbox-fanboys who got tempered when they were stripped-off of SC3 being its PS2 exclusive, you just hate the game out of envy... that would be a shame if that's true, still I would love to know any arguments of its being a step-backwards, Hee Hee Hee !!!
As I mentioned before I don't doubt it had better techniques for graphical processing, but it still looked worse to me, maybe because the art style was changed a bit and the animations felt choppy.
That the game was faster is a big minus in my book, because before it was fast-paced, but still very tactical game, but in SC3 it became hectic and uncoordinated in my opnion.
The usual more of everything stuff ofcourse is nice and expected in sequals, but it doesn't matter to me as much as the feel of the gameplay and that just didn't feel right to me as someone who played Sc1+2 for years.
Ahh yea I don't even have a xbox, nor have any intentions of buying a Microsoft console, so that little hypothesis of yours goes down the drain.
i wanna get the darth vader one!
i wanna get the darth vader one!
Everything else is butter.
SC1 didn't even have english ones and SC2+3 had that option to switch to japanese voices, so in my opinion you have nothing to worry about there.
