really looking forward to this game..but very disappointed they're not including the map editor with the console version (as that offered the most fun in the first one). I hope they dont try and sell it to us a dlc after release.

Want a demo.

Why your even considering this game on a console is beyond me. Get the game on PC, the specs arn't very high.

Oh come on! Don't be so stubborn. It takes alot of time and effort to put something like a map-editor into a console game. I'd much rather they devote time to making sure the game is solid. You don't want a FarCry2; Great map editor, rubbish online, which makes it pretty much pointless.

I think they'd be totally justified in selling it as DLC.

Another PC elitist.

Why get it on Xbox? Because if the dev team have put enough time into it, it will be just as good as it is on PC.

You may prefer PC, But don't turn it into some childish "consoles are rubbish" argument.

Actually the PC version has more players in multiplayer and a mission editor on day one. Not to mention the possibility for other modding tools.

Right, So there's no point in even entertaining the notion of a console version?

Game looks beautiful. My PC would never run it though. Recommended card is an 8800GT. And if most games are any example, by "recommended" they mean "absolute minimum." And by "minimum" they mean "you might be able to see the menus with these specs."

I might pick this up for my 360. Unless this game is seriously optimized (like COD4! <3 ), there's no way my poor 8600GT 512mb could run it.

I think you are reading too much into the posts. Things that aren't there. You are making the "console are rubbish' remark, nobody else did. So who is turning this into a PC vs console thread?
Ermmm (and I quote:)

"Why your even considering this game on a console is beyond me. Get the game on PC".

Now I'm sure the PC version is superiour and all, and my rig can easily run the game, but it's growing a bit tiresome reading the same "PC version is superiour" comments anytime a console/PC game comes up. Just like the responses in return to that in the form of: "PC gaming has died".

because the PC's not a closed platform.. meaning its anybodys guess how it will run on PC its likely to look a lot worse on the PC than it is on the 360 (which is why its stupid blindly saying things like "the pc version is superior" when it never looks the same on each PC..certainly wont be superior on mine).

@brovril

How am i being stubborn for feeling disappointed that the editors not included in the console port? They've already devoted the time to make sure its solid..unless you think they've done a half arsed version on the PC which they're happy throwing the editor with. The editors part of the tools designed to create the game dont forget.
Whats disappointing is that the last video they put out they were saying how they dont view console games/players any different from PC gamers..stepping away from that mentality of looking down on them as kids toys as aposed to the "serious hardcore gamers" of pc gaming. So theres no real reason it shouldnt of been included.

I dont personally see how they'd be justified in holding the map editor back to sell later as dlc if thats whats planned

This last footage appears to have better AA than previous dev videos. I suppose this is from the pc version and not the Xbox 360 version.

Gonna go with the 360 version 'cuz I'm the only one I know with a decent rig. All my Army buddies have 360's, so if I want to get tactical with friends, thats how I'm gonna have to do it.
As for the video- I love the attention they are giving to the sound( especially how you can hear people moving/interacting from a distance). Makes you aware of the importance of noise discipline. I do have to say that their recording methods must be a little off, because that does NOT sound like a real M16/M4(same thing basically) or M249( SAW). Not punchy enough. I'd say the SAW is the most painful sounding weapon I've ever fired( much harder on the ears than a .50 cal, oddly enough) and in this video it sounds pretty weak.

@bleachedsmiles

You said it yourself. The editor on PC is literally the developers tool they used to create the game. They just included it for PC.

They can't simply put that on the Xbox360 or PS3 disc and have it work. Or pop it in a "port to console" program.

There would need to be a whole development for that on console. And You've got to take into account consoles tech limitations, and the complexity of the editor itself. It would take alot of testing. The game as it is would be specifically scaled, it's not like you could throw 50 AI's in and it gets a bit choppy, it would literally brake.

So, I wouldn't put money on them hold back a perfectly stable mission editor specially for DLC. If so they must have one hell of a dev team and they deserve extra money.

Turning to one of your other points, I think when devs were talking about the perceived mentality of console gamers, they were talking more about gameplay. Looking down on consoles from a tech stand point is idiotic because my PC couldn't run virus.

Will pick this up for pc I feel. I'll leave my ps3 for the racing titles coming out thick and fast these next few months. At 17.99 its a bargain. It's looking promising.

Wow all I said was the PC versions spec arn't very high so it is very accessible to all players, so no need to worry about consoles limitations blah blah.

But yet some people jump to the conclusion and bark loudest. Compensating much?

Well your comment,

"Why your even considering this game on a console is beyond me."

certainly seemed alot more hostile, whether you meant it or not.
