This is sort of one of those wait and see games for me. 2D games dont always translate well into 3D. I will keep my eyes on this one though.

Guess it`s the Unreal 3 engine. These games looks all the same. But it can be fun. Love the blood. Keep it coming.

The look of the game is like a cross between Dead Space and Batman: AA (they also both use UE3 but I'm talking strictly a character/environment design standpoint). Need to wait and see how well this translates gameplay-wise as thextreme1 said.

It might get slippery walking on those concrete and metal floors all covered with wet blood.

What's with the cell-shading-style black line around some of the characters but not always? Plus, the fairly photo-realistic graphic style with the black line just looks weird.

No doubt this *could* be good—but I think its a product of false-nostalgia, the distances of the past making things better than they actually were. If they're going to re-make a 2d side-scrolling beat-'em-all from the SMS/NES era, it should have been Streets of Rage. The characters, the fighting system, the story; everything was much better in SoR than Splatterhouse.

That is strange.
It looks like the farther away an object is the less you can see its outline;
like it's part of the character instead of imitating a hand drawn look.

I don't think Dead Space uses Unreal Engine 3.

Ah. It seems they abandoned UE3 early in development when they couldn't get the effects they wanted out of it. They switched to an internal engine used for Godfather. My mistake. Thanks for correcting me.

When did it get the outlines? Looks exactly like Borderlands now.

People uneccesarily hate on the UE3 engine, sure most games tend to have this certain look which often suggests UE3 but all in all its a dam good engine and its used by plenty of developers over other engines for a reason. The engine itself is one of the more stable ones to use whilst creating/editing and it's one of the more user friendly engines out there, and kismet enables people who lack programming coding skills to program actions visually with relative amount of ease. Also we all know the engine is very capable on xcreating both unique and excellent graphics and it is largely up to the developers on how they utilise the tools available.

Anyway enough of defending a great engine and a quick comment about the game, I personally love the monster designs I think they look awsome and the blood just looks comical in a fun way. Hopefully we'll see some gameplay but it looks to have promise on a funn design.
