Trailer PC Xbox 360

As expected Splinter Cell: Conviction also gets a preorder bonus: A shotgun. This preordering stuff is one of the most annoying novelties of this generation.

Why are these companies so stupid. It's like they try to make it obvious that they just want lots of money.

I probably wasn't going to preorder it, but I defiantly won't preorder now.

Infact, maybe I'll buy it second hand just to piss them off.

Yeah that will show 'em!

Actually I dont know why I would ever preorder a video game...
I mean they are not limited or rare are they? (not talking about CEs however I can buy CEs of any game months after release at my local store...)

Well I live in a college town so if I don't preorder a game quite often the game is sold out on day one. Many games I had to wait a couple extra days to get b/c it was sold out from the preorders. NO huge deal I know, but when you are really looking forward to playing a game, it does suck to wait longer b/c you forgot to preorder it.

Also, at the game crazy where I live, quite often they have deals where if you put trade ins towards a preorder, you get an extra 30% to 50% for the trade in. Sometimes it's a really good deal. I preordered Bad Company 2 and i'm getting $40 for putting MW2 down towards it. Pretty good deal in my book.

That being said, I do agree that having extra content in the preorder edition is really fucking annoying. Especially when it's content that involves MP like bad company 2 did. I felt like an ass b/c of that alone.

So so dumb. A shotgun in a stealth game?

This just makes me facepalm at Ubi Montreal. What kind of message does this send out to Splinter Cell fans who are worried that this game will be more murder-oriented?

Yea, it makes no sense, why the hell would we want to use, of all things, a damn shotgun in a game where we are mostly expected to operate in a stealth like fashion?

Cha-chik BOOM!

I actually really hate this pre-order bonus blah too. Especially when they don't make it clear when/if it'll be available elsewhere.

Also since, at some times of the year, I don't have the time to play all the latest games when they come out, so theres no point in me getting them on release day, for full price. When I won't actually have the desire/time to play it until later.
