Ubiosft has unveiled a Splinter Cell Remake has been greenlit and the project's production is led by its studio in Toronto. The title is using the Snowdrop engine, used in The Division series but also the studio's two major upcoming games Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and a not-yet-titled Star Wars. They said that they want to keep the spirit of the early games intact and just make visual and QoL changes specific to today's standards. Which is great. They also said they want to keep the game linear, like the original games, and not open-world. All of which is:

Given Ubisoft's BS shenanigans like MTXs, NFTs, and all manner of design-by-committee crap, it still makes me very weary of what they will do in terms of monetization, because they're absolutely not interested in just selling a game, a one-and-done type of deal.
I absolutely love Splinter Cell, so am happy they are remaking it. Just hope that they don't stuff it full of the worst things in today's gaming. Excitement and terror.
