Exactly. Both are fantastic game franchises in their own right, and I would not be a happy camper if I were only allowed to choose one over the other. Gaming is much more fun when you can have ice cream with your cake.

I really don't see what they are trying to accomplish with this. Sure i like fun and mindless stuff in games at times, but this? It's not even close to being funny. SR2 already tried too hard to be funny and failed..and now this...nah.

All my opinion of course.

i agree. it just reeks of desperation imo. like those directors who cant make decent films, so revert back to purile parodies (scary movie, epic movie etc etc) that only cater to the braindead 13 year olds.

GTA is an event. something people stand up and take notice of. the release of a new grand theft auto is a big deal in the industry. and saint row will never have that while they continue to make games that look like they where designed by a bunch of frat boys.

i just dont get the appeal?!?

really? GTA is fervent with college boys, yet it never held much weight with me.

Maybe it's like you grew up on Venus, and I grew up on Mars.

I can't even begin to describe how much more fun SR is than...

GTA is fervent with everyone. it's a multimillion seller, that everyone has heard of. doesnt change the fact saint row tries too hard to appeal to that group of people.

"dude, you know what would make this game fucking awesome...."

"dude, tell me..."

"being able to run upto a random guy, and punching him in the nuts..."

"hahaha, yeah, hahah, dude, hahaha, awesome, combined with the cock jokes this game is gonna be sweeeeet"

it's like COD, i'm sure that's played by more college guys then say, duke nukem, but i'd say duke was the game with the more purile sensibilities and the one TRYING to be funny, and controversial for the sake of their audience.

i guess i just grew out of the whole american pie childish humour (i never found it that great to begin with) hence why i just dont "get" it.

to each his own

Sir, steer away from this game.

Trying to be funny is a noble cause. Maybe you are just trying to spoil the fun from those who may like this game.

I got upset about your all negative Just Cause 2 comments long time ago. But then I read the definition of Korndog from Urban Dictionary. And now I understand that it is just the nature of the beast. :)

i think that is pretty close, Korndog, you have to admit. You don't sound positive about much of anything around here.
Not that you need to, or anything.

Hey, you liked that Robyn song so that's alright with me.

Yep, it's a pre-order from me.

Loved Saint Row 2 as it's so far away from GTA, for one it's escapism, the last GTA has just gone too serious. What got me in Saint Row 2 you could play co-op missions or just driving/flying around the city finding item/things which one person had found and vise versa, which all help to kill off those hard to find achievements.
