Capcom just confirmed that Makoto, Ibuki et Dudley, all escaped from Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, will be playable in Super Street Fighter IV. Images, trailer and videos inside!
I agree with bleachedsmiles, it could have been DLC but Capcom are going with the "old school" business model on this one. I remember buying SF2 Turbo for my SNES which had vastly less in the way of new content than this offers though.
In this day and age DLC makes much more sense and hopefully with this title there will be the possibility of further upgrades being DLC.

i know they've added extra characters, "rings", and an extra online mode/tweaks... but wouldnt you expect that from dlc these days?
I wouldn't call adding 1/4 more characters simply "extra". Also there are new move sets as well as 2 optional specials for every character. Costumes, stages, rivalries, improved animations, etc.
This is so much more than any kind of DLC we've seen this generation.
more than we've seen dlc offer in the genre..certainly not more than what we've seen dlc capable of offering. You only have to look towards GTA4's dlc, or Fallout 3's.. to see the value dlc can offer
And i think thats how dlc should be used..or atleast offered as an available option alongside the disc package. So instead of having it like SF2 where a new version of the same game is sold to you several times, you can keep your original sf4 purchase and get the option of dlc expansions for half the price....removing the need to trade in SF4 in order to get super street fighter 4 ...and then trade that in to get Super Street Fighter 4 Turbo...and then trade that in to get Hyper Street Fighter 4 ect, should you want to keep up with the world of street fighter.
this for DLC would be ridiculous for several reasons all characters have new super moves. and they've added what 10 characters now? stages, mode etc this is more content than your average fighting game update and it makes no sense for it to be DLC because not everyone world buy dlc and it would leave players of basic game at a disavantage.

Why are people so quick to forget that ES4: Oblivion had a whole expansion as DLC? It's very much possible for Capcom to have made this DLC. Either way it doesn't matter to me since I'll be getting it anyway.
I still don't believe in DLC for this game. My household has 3 360's (roommates) in it and releasing it as DLC would effectively make what is essentially an entirely new game only playable on one system. If we were to all download the DLC it would probably come out to more than just regular retail price of a full game.
It would also make playing this game anywhere outside of your household a pain.
Sure the GTA and Fallout games are great examples of DLC, but those are also single player experiences with much less replay than a fighter.
Why would you want DLC, what happens when people don't buy it, they won't be able to play you until they update. As already pointed out 10 new characters bunch of new stages, rebalanced gameplay plus new moves sounds a lot more like a sequel than DLC.
SF also has a big tournament scene its easier running those with hardcopies rather than downloads.
People should be complaining to EA that Fifa10 wasn't DLC. Fifa09>Fifa10

Or, they could simply not be greedy and release it as a patch, just like the good old days before gamers became whores. :)
I can see how this might as well be DLC because it basically uses the same gameplay mechanics as street fighter IV but DLC wouldn't work. For example, (just using soul calibur 4 for an example), I'm pretty sure most of us are aware that darth vader was already on the 360 disc for sciv but just locked; but could be bought as dlc. Seem as he was already on the disc without the download; people who had downloaded him could have online matches with people without him available otherwise they would need to download him as the game would be reading data that isn't on the disc. For example you can't play on a DLC map for an fps just because someone else has it. If you haven't got the dlc, you can't play it because it's non-existent data. Now how that fits in with super street fighter IV: Because it uses new characters and specials, people who download the dlc can only play against those who have also downloaded the DLC as the neither the characters nor the specials would appear on a system without the DLC. Sorry if this is badly worded; basically what I'm trying to say is: You can't use DLC against people without it because they don't have it so it won't appear in their game; therefore limiting who you can play with. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's just how I see it.

@Bleachedsmiles:
You so silly. There is way too much added to be a simple DLC. Shame on you for not knowing that.

But I'm still pretty excited anyway.
