Xbox 360 PS3

Famitsu has the scoop this week on the announcement of Star Ocean 4, to be released sometimes in the next few years on an announced platform(s?) with "hardware that can display beautiful graphics".

Those tiny little shots look incredible if they're real time, but I have a feeling they're probably parts of pre rendered cutscenes, probably on a bluray disk...

hopefully this game won't be nearly as linear as its predecessors and other JRPGs. That's the main complaint I have with these RPGs (especially eternal sonata). They give you these big beautiful worlds but you can't really explore or interact with the environment much. =/

looks great though

Well Jrpgs have a structure to follow which I like. The one thing that put me off about Obilivon was it was too open and not enough structure to it

It's hard to have the same focus on story if the game is all free. Just look at games like Fallout. Great games which let you do stuff the way YOU want to, but it does not have an epic story in the same sense that a j-rpg usually does on account of the freedom you have. J-rpgs are more like interactive stories in my opinion, and i don't mean anything bad by that, they just usually lack a bit in gameplay but makes up for it with story.

YAY TRIACE MY FAVORITE, I played Star Ocean 3 for a long time and never fought a boss that took me as long as 4D Freya.

Been waiting mostly only for this on TGS, love the star ocean series and I can't wait for this one, I hope more info will be out on TGS about this title.

And PS not a single platform yet have been announced for the title, wich probably meens Xbox 360 and PS3. Also Tri Ace is already working with another Xbox 360 title so it seems like they are supporting it anyway.

Hopefully this game will be on both 360 and PS3, SO3 is one of my favourite games of last gen, can't wait for this. (If its PS3 exclusive then I will buy a PS3 :P)

There were rumors going around that this could be 360 exclusive or timed exclusive so who knows.

Hopefully the battle engine will remain similar.

Tri-Ace have some of the best graphical programmers in JP games, so i can't wait to see how this turns out.
