It's a lot of fun, although they should tell you that Triangle is how you do the RTS stuff :P The shooting isn't great, but the movement with infinite sprinting and reloading while sprinting make it feel more flexible compared to GoW.

Not a fan of the framerate, but it's a beta.

Any shooter that does that is awesome IMO.
Killzone 2 and 3 does this as well, I am sure I am missing a few titles that do it as well (Battlefield 3 I think?).

Bad Company as well.. maybe Medal of Honor? Not sure.

Hitting sprint to reload cancel in Call of Duty is pretty handy if you're not nimble enough to double tap the weapon key.

Probably in Medal of Honor as well, dont remember. I do remember Bad Company had it to now that you mention it, used it alot lol.

Only disadvantage to this that I can see is, if you are reloading and you sprint, you cant cancel out the animation if you all of a sudden see a enemy infront of you.

So yeah, its a mix of good and bad. I think you should be able to cancel the reload animation if you press reload again, or zoom in or hipfire, some games do that as well.
But really, sprint and reload together is something I never nitpicked about, if its there its there, if not, its not lol.

There are other ways to cancel a reload ya know.. quickly switching to your secondary and back will do it too..

Or melee, but those have slightly longer animations, especially switching weapons compared to melee. I usually melee when I know the reload animation is near done, so I save like 1-2 seconds from that animation.
Has come in handy for me so its all good :)

Most games will allow you to switch weapons back and forth without completing the weapon switch animation. It's faster than *actually* switching back and forth (or doing a complete melee animation). You won't even see your sidearm come out in many cases. Call of Duty lets you do this without even switching by double tapping the primary weapon key. This is also useful in shaving a little time off of your reload, since many games complete the reload before the animation.

There are various variations to save some time in reload, I just mostly use either sprint to cancel it out or melee considering.
Though I do like some perks that comes in some games that lets you hot swap weapons quickly, or fast reload.
Syndicate has faster reloading perk you can unlock, or Deus Ex HR which I think is another game that lets you sprint and reload, not sure.

If memory serves me right, I think Gears of War 3 lets you sprint and reload as well, and roll and reload.

Multitasking, good stuff! :P

Just sayin, quick switch is definitely faster than melee in most games since you don't need to complete an additional animation.

Both are fast enough to save you some time.
For example the knive swing in CoD is fast, the melee in Crysis is fast...depends how they are designed in the speed of the animations, some games have it faster.
Ah well.
