The new chick looks nice, but most of all I just wish they kept this series dead. It looks ugly and boring.

Millions of street fighter fans would disagree, and what the hell do you mean by kept it dead? the street fighter series has never been dead.

8 and a half years since Third Strike's release it is still played by millions, widely regarded as the best of the series and continues to be one of the big boys amongst the beat em up genre.

I wouldn't call that ever being dead.

dude, it's synce. Don't bother :p

anyway, that chick is looking pretty SNKish(KOF) to me. I wonder if Shinkiro is working on this game, since that would explain the similarities.

Yep that and Super Turbo, though I much prefer the lattar so I'm pleased to hear that at the moment it plays more like ST than anything else.

As for the visuals I was really disappointed that it didnt retain the kanji like style, its too bright for my liking, and character models don't appeal to me at all. But at the end of the day SF has always been about competitive gameplay im sure it will live up to the hype.

New chick looks like a mash of several SF characters, Rose, Juni, the lady boy that follows Hugo around, and the bearded dude that had the baseball bat in the EX series.

It's being made by the same people that created the abortion, "Capcom Fighting Jam." But there's still hope. They are trying to craft a more newbie friendly experience than third strike. They're tossing most of SF3's concepts out the window (except EX moves) in favor of a more offensively focused theme that revolves around systems, combos and moves that are easier for everyone to do.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I want to know why they're focusing on new females when I have a feeling that Ibuki, Makoto and Elena are going to get left out in the cold. He says there aren't enough girls in the SF universe, but that's really not true.

expanding on what GriftGFX said, the people worked on Capcom Fighting Jam namely Ono only over saw the project, but even he is extremely disappointed with the game, you only have to look at alpha 2 & 3 and Street Fighter 3 and see that this guy knows what he is doing.

I think Ibuki and Makoto will be definately be in the game, if you look at the SF3 cast they are the most original characters and loved more or less by everyone even if you dont use them. They are always great to watch.

If you havent done so, go to 1up.com and watch the gameplay and interview footage!!

He had more of an impact on CFJ than any other Capcom fighting game though, so I think there's still enough reason there to be somewhat cautious. If you listen to his comments on the 1up show, well, there's as much cause for optimism as their is concern. Frankly, I think they're trying to appeal to a new generation of fans here, which could be a good thing, but could also be bad for oldschool fans of the franchise.

We'll see how it turns out. I'm just being a little cautious about the hype surrounding SF4, because personally, I see it as quite a big deal.

Yeh i agree with you there, personally my feeling is that the game is so far away that I'm not too concerned about it at the moment. I would rather Capcom just keep up with the news regarding the new Super Turbo.

I still have a feeling we won't get anyone from SF3, which is a pretty epic disappointment if it turns out to be the case. Especially considering that this new character design is no Ibuki or Makoto :/ Not that there are only females to make use of in SF3. I'm a little worried in general about new characters.. Ingrid wasn't all that special.

They need to reveal Chun-Li now. I hope she looks cool. Will Sakura finally make an appearance in the core franchise? Is Cammy back? So many questions. I'd be pretty bummed out if we just got the SF2 cast + a couple of new characters. I'd rather see a sparse number of SF2/SF3 characters and a large new cast that don't look like elite beat agents.

Ugh that sounds like the worst thing they could possibly do, more newbie friendly isn't even necessary for the sf series since it has always been easy to pick up and play. If anything they should make it deeper and less newbie friendly, i was kind of hoping they would go back to the street fighter alpha 3 style, wich in my opinion is still the greatest 2d fighter ever made

The funny thing is that, the main concern orginal SF fans disliked about alpha 3 and SF3 was the introduction of the 'freaks', now look we have a tranny looking chick.

Yo,
I love 3s more than anything, and after seeing the gameplay videos, this game reminds me of those old SF EX games. They didn't suck, but were nothing like 3s or the alpha games. Character art can be improved some, but I have big respect for these guys using cell shaded like 3D even if I was hoping for some rich high res 2D.

I sure hope it plays well. Need more videos!

Yeah, it doesn't look like they're up with the old winning formula. Elite beat agents hahaa
